Exhibition of Speed
Last night I got an exhibition of speed ticket. There were 7 officers. I got tested by 3 different officers for a DUI which I passed because I didn't have anything to drink. The first officer who pulled me over was going to write a reckless driving ticket but one of the officers that showed up said he liked my car and went and talked to the officer writing the ticket and got him to do an exhibition of speed. They claim I was doing at least 50mph in a 25mph. They admitted they didn't have it on radar. When I told them I was only in 2nd gear and doing 35mph(being honest) the officer got 3 in. from my face and was yelling and cursing at me. If I deny the charge is there a good chance I can at least get it reduced since they cops didn't have me on radar? I wish I wouldn't have told them I was doing 35mph. Heres the funniest part. One of the officers claimed I did 0-60 in 3 sec
I wish I could do that.

I am, I got profiled cuz cops are ****ing *******s in general. Not all but most.
Another thing I have going for me is the officer claimed I had been squeeling my tires all night and I had been at a park until 10 min before I got pulled over. Where I live theres hot august nights where 100's of old cars cruise around and stuff. Half the reason I got the ticket the officer claimed I deserved it for everything I had done that night. Funny thing was there was 2 other blue thirdgen camaros that night cruising around and I have over a 100 witnesses.

my roomate did 65 in 35 or something like that and the cop said he was doing 82. Not on radar. The kid said there was no way, I was doing 65. The cop said he would bumb the speed up to 85 if the kid tries to fight it. What bull!! Well he did and the district justice agreed with the COP!!. Charged 85 in 35. Kid then got a lawyer and took it to the county court where he got it reduced to 65. so it depends on the justice in your area. I just got a 103 in 65 reduced to 95 so i dont lose the license (I dont drive like that ever. Just one time I had a speed burst for fun.). the judge was sympathetic towards me and let me go with lesser charges. And you have good evidence of your car's capabilities that no way in hell it did what they said. Have them test it. Do whatever. Make them look bad.
Oh yeah, whats this have to do with auto appearance and detailing?

I was looking at tickets using the search function and over the last few years most of the ticket threads were in this forum. Plus I got profiled cuz of the way my car looks.
just get a lawyer, i got a ticket for an 83 in a 55 and got it reduced to some no moving thing. It cost 130 for the ticket cost to the town and the lawyer gave me a freebie since its the first time and she knows my uncle very well.

Is your car a stick? I got pulled over one time in my old 5-spd Camaro because when I took off from a stoplight, my front-end raised up. Granted, I took off from the light kinda quickly, but the car was a V6 so it wasn't that fast.
I told the cop, "Yeah, it's a stick, that's what it does." He just gave me a verbal warning.

One night on my way home from work I was doing about 80 in a 65 and a cop pulled me over, he said he had me on radar and i told him i was going 80, he was like close you were going 79, then walked to his car with my license came back and told me just to slow down.
Less than a week later (night before thanksgiving) Driving home abotu 2am from work again. Going speed limit, and get on the exit ramp this cop which is behind me claimed i went 65 mph around this bend (my car would of not taken this turn at 50 without killing me and the car) and I told him that it wasnt possible (he was a deputy sheriff with small ***** syndrome) he claimed I was drunk, and was at a party when I told him I had been working and had my uniform on and offered him to call my work. He told me he had me going 65 on the turn on tape. HE got real pissy and said "I dont need a punk ******* 17 year old telling me how to do my job" He even threatened to impound my car.
He knew if he did any of this he could kiss his job goodbye cuz he was all
So he wrote a warning and called my parents at 2am. They didn't care they agreed with me sayign the guy had a syndrome because he was jsut a deputy.

Yeah its a stick. I'm only 16 so I can't afford a lawyer.

In my state you have to be burning rubber for an exhibition of speed ticket. You know since they never got you on radar they really have no proof of anything, it will be his word against yours. And since hes a cop and you're not he has the upper hand (speaking from experience here). So what you need to do is go back to the scene where it happened and document your story. When you present yourself to the judge he will take you much more seriously if you present a large number of facts instead of just telling your side of the story. Measure out the area, make a drawing, indicate your speeds at certain points of the road, do whatever you have to do to show that you were not doing 50 in a 25 zone. Do not bring up how the cops treated you since the judge will probably not believe you. Win the case with facts and when its all said and done, then get the cops badge numbers and call in a complaint about how they treated you (yelling in your face and such). Remember its their job to serve and protect, not treat you like crap. By law they must give you their badge numbers. If they refuse, get their liscence plates.

Thats a good idea CrazyHawaiian, thanks. I went in today to deny the charge and the clerk of court said if the judge rules against me the maximum he can do is $300 and 6 months in jail.

they gonna send a 16 year old to jail? lol. I don't see that happening. I would fight it the best you can because it seems like a load of BS. I have been profiled MANY times. I got out of the important ones because my dad...for some reason...knows a lot of cops. Whats funny is he drink at bars with them all LOL,.
I didn't get out of all of them though....

Check your state laws about the ticket. I know here in AZ and Exabition of Speed ticket has to have 1 really important item on it. AN EXACT SPEED, without it, the ticket will get thrown out. Look into it and see what you can find.

If you find out the exact laws you may be able to get out of it. I don't think a cop should be able to give someone a ticket for what you did....maybe a speeding ticket but thats it. You didn't spin or anything...even if you were doing burnouts they should have ticketed you then..not later. Its all a bunch of crap if you ask me.

I went to the McDonalds in the next town over last month and one old fellow coworker told me to burn em... i was like allright so I laid a big brake stand on the cement pads they have. No noise except a whining sound and a lotta smoke. Cop bagged be.... he was 23 though and a kinda new cop, so a few days after he gave me the 136 dollar ticket my friends and i were hanging out. He came up and shot the shi* with us and told me to throw the ticket away

I'm just happy the cops don't care about emissions and engine parts legality. I have true dual with no cats and about half the stuff on my engine isn't legal in Idaho. Thanks for the advice everybody.

that stinks how they seemed to have caught you instead of the other blue camaro. You should tell the judge about the car gathering you were at and ask how the officers identified your car as the one that was driving like a maniac all day. My cousin has a 2000 Z28 and he got a ticket last week for "Misuse of Power"... he was caught doing a u-turn via nailing the gas pedal and swinging the *** end around. So what did he do... he promptly had a t-shirt made with an airbrushed picture of his Camaro and the words "Misuse of Power" above it. LOL

You can always go to www.3rdgen.org and post in the ask a cop forum, there might be some cops from your state there

Bottom line is it depends on what state/county you live in on how they handle these things.
Here's how it goes in N.Y. (Long Island) for any NY's reading:
In Nassau county I'd always mail the ticket in not guilty (which you can do here up to a certain speed or offense) Then you'd go to traffic court and speak to an assistant DA. You could then either accept the plea bargain(reduced charge), which is what I always did or continue with a not guilty plea and get a another court date for a hearing. I never got charged with speeding even though all my original tickets were speeders :-) If you didn't take the plea bargain chances are you'd lose in court so you never go that route.
(I heard they may have stopped doing this but I don't know. I haven't had any tickets in a long time)
Good Luck!!!!

in my country (netherlands), most people think only heavy criminals are driving big american cars like camaros.
So the cops (a bunch of gays) just ignore cars like this, HAPPY ME!
hehe, its true, believe me.
