Exhaust-tips for '91T/A-will it fit?

I have a '91 TransAM with a 3'' flowmaster system on it right now. When the muffer shop installed, however, they notched/bent the very end of the tailpipes, like the stock pipes were. Now, I want to get some nice, long, chrome, 45deg. circular-cut tips on the back by first having a shop trimming the tailpiping back to horizantle and welding the tips on. The problem is that the rear bumper ground f/x is way low, and the tips would be prone to ditch and backup damage. Good idea? Bad idea? What can I do about it? Thanks ya'll. (Brian, in case the sig. doesn't show)

Interesting idea... 4th gen camaro tips come in black only, though, right? Or do they come chrome, also? I might look into some rectangular shaped aftermarket tips at the muffler shop also.
