Simple clean isn't overly aggresive, but it's safe, won't stain, won't eat paint. I like it cuz I can just keep on sprayin' it!
Wheel cleaner works, but can stain the aluminum if left on, and it'll eat paint. The TPI isn't like a wheel, because you aren't drenching is with water to rinse.
...The MAF has a burn-off cycle, and shouldn't need to be cleaned, but I imagine some electrical cleaner would work, but be careful, and don't try to wipe it off with a towel. It's VERY delicate.

thanks, ill try simple green.
i read in another post that the oils from k&n filters and kind of clutter on the thin metal line that is the maf sensor, and with some kind of cleaner, you can get that stuff off so it gets better readings.

try ez off oven cleaner if your trying ot remove lots of stubborn grease, oil deposits. just dont get it on yourself it burns and eats the oils off your hands.

I use "Greased Lightning" Orange cleaner on my cars. I've found that it works MUCH better than Simple Green. I clean the corvette every couple weeks with it. It takes grease and oil off the motor a lot more effectively than the Simple Green ever did.
Laquer thinner and a wire brush/rags work better than anything I have ever tried, including simple green and all those other degreasers.
This is a semi-harsh solevent, so you will want to wear gloves. Otherwise it will dry out your skin horribly and make them crack, peel, and burn.
If you use it to clean plastics, wipe quickly, and don't use alot of it. I used it to clean my washer fluid and overflow tanks, and made them look brand new again. If you soak it though, it will eat thru it in a matter of an hour.
