91/92 aero wing

anyone ever put a 91/92 style aerowing on a car that originally had a pre-91 aero wing? I have a 91/92 wing sitting in the garage and the guy at year one told me it would bolt right on. Well, its a little different than the stock 88 aero wing in that the mounting tabs on the side of the glass are in different places. Thanks in advance.

Why would you want to put that wing instead of your 'old' style, I personally think that 91-92 aero wing shouldn't even consider as a wing, no offence to anyone nut I think its pretty damn ugly!

At least the 91-92 wing doesn't crumble after being in the sun for 20 minutes.

Personally I like the 91-92 much better than the older style.

Ahh.. Jim, kick on the *****..

But really that doesn't even look like a spoiler to me, it's just a body part of a somekind at the rear, a trunk extension..

did anyone answer the question?

well i will, i bolted one of those things on for my 86 camaro that had the 3 peice wing set. i removed the 3 sections and then bondo'd the holes. i then drilled new ones for the 91-92 spoiler cuz they didnt line up, notta one. it was relatively easy cuz i decided to paint the whole car in the process. maybe like a couple hours worth of work cuz sanding it so it sits flush with the body, then either touch up paint or actual real paint.

btw-it looks great and it turns the heads when i drive by!

I guess its purely a matter of taste as to which on e is better. I like the 91/92 wing for a few reasons; It is not made of that foam rubber crap, so it wont crumble or crack like the older ones always do. The newer wing is much, much lighter than the old one. And most of all, it looks better. (Personal opinion)

So, what about the sides of the wing where it mounts to the glass? What do you do wiht the mounting tabs? THey dont line up.

If I cant get this one to work, I am going to look into that 4th gen Trans Am wing specifically for thirdgens. ITs pretty slick. THanks, Joey
