Uhh..I wanna look like that Prototype RS..now!

Do they sell that grill on that car? If you aren't sure abut what I'm talking about go to TRAX's page that talks about the RS. http://www.timsiford.freeservers.com/25th.html Are the orange on black insturment gauges just stock on all 90's and up??? I want those!! They look way cooler than white on black. I really really REALLY want the runners on that car..they look like really star trekky..which is cool too me..heh.. SO if I am just a retard and you can get the grill, orange on black climate controls, and awsome runners aftermarket, please tell me so and where the hell to get em! thanks alot guys

What's so special about the grill? It looks like a stock RS grill that was painted.

Ok the grille is just an regular ol RS grille painted.

As for the guages with the orange neddles they are specfic to the 92 Camaros. 90-91 guages are the same as that but with yellow neddles

As for the runners umm i dunno.

I could be wrong, but I think my 91 rs has those orange needles too. The grill looks exactly like the one on my brother's 92 rs too (painted just like that). I have the black rs grill from when I switched mine to the z-grill. If you really like it, you can have mine for cheap.

In all honesty I've always like the louvered grill more then the fog light grill. I guess you could get one and just paint it. I remember GK's IROC had white louvers from the previous owner so they can't be that hard to paint. just my .02

If you wish to learn more about the 25th aniv prototype checkout this directory. http://350.streetracing.org/images/anivrs/

I might be silly,, but,, those look like the siamesed runners made by SLP & sold by Summit

other than looking pretty sharp,,,it just looks like a reg 91-92 camaro with a 6-speed, GTA wheels, & a set of runners (guessing there's more performance than that not seen)

It's got a 270hp Vette L98 in it. I think the article said they dropped 42lbs by using the Vette L98 aluminum heads...but could be wrong... anyway checkout the link I posted I think one of the articles talks about it.

Those don't look like SLP runners to me.

I have an article from Hotrod on the car in front of me and about the runners, it says here:

"Specially siamesed runners were hand fabricated from aluminum and joined with a reworked manifold and plenum, while the fuel curve was leaned out slightly and calibrated to run premium unleaded fuel."

Page 69, "The Camaro That Never Was"
The Best of HOT ROD - Camaro Performance 1989-1996.

So it would seem they were custom made for that car/motor combo, they're pretty sweet lookin .

BTW that book i got it from is really cool. I picked it up from Barnes and Nobles, it's got lots of thirdgen stuff in it, fun stuff to read, a few fourth gen articles, but they're fun too.

No offense, but I think the RS grills make the car look cheap. I love the IROC fog light setup. The grill is like having covered button holes in the dash, you could have gotten the upgraded option but you didnt so now you have a plug in its place. The grill is just a plug where the IROC front end and light should be.

This is a Z? Did anyone notice the RS emblem on the dash?

no it is an RS, it was what the 25th anniversary RS, SHOULD have been, instead of a car with red stripes and no nuts beyond what was already out.

I've been researching this prototype ever since the first articles ran. From what I read, it was a Z28, but they replaced the emblems with the RS ones. It's pretty much (options wise) a B4C (Police package). I guess it was easier to change the emblems than to convert a B4C? I think it looks awesome as a RS. Later. John

I've followed these cars since thier inception. There were two prototypes made for GM by TDM Technologies in Michigan. They had 1LE/B4C suspensions and fuel tanks in addition to the Head/TPI/ECM mods, and ZF 6 speed. When the project was cancelled one was destroyed (the one that had the roll-cage in it). "Dr. Moss" and Scott Leon of the Chevy Raceshop saved the other one. It was moth-balled until they decided to take the L98 out and put in a modified '94 'Vette LT1 that made about 420 hp. If I remember right the cam in the motor was a devopment mule of what later became the HOT cam. It also got a 4.10 gear. The car is back again in it's 3rd incarnation and you can check it out in the current HOT ROD issue (Just look for it on the cover). GMPP has had it painted yellow and it now has the RamJet 350 crate motor and engine controls in it. Everything else is the same including the 4.10 gear. I'd put a rear spoiler on it and put the bowtie grille in it and put a home-made ram-air system in it.
