87 T/A into an 83 Firebird

ok so heres my problem, i just bought an 87 T/A 305 TPI auto tranny with performance suspension and digital guages. i also have an 83 2.8l 5sp firebird. both have ttops. i looked at the 87 on a lift and the frame on the drivers side is all bent on the bottom, the hood, drivers window and rear hatch dont line up properly, carfax tells me it was in an axident in 92 in nevada, and the the odometer might be messed. the 82 has a bit of rust and kinda leaky ttops....my question is can i take everything outa the 87 and put it into the 83? i meen everything like the front clip rear bumper all teh gfx rebuild the engine prefesionally and throw in a 5spd and the whole interior into the 83? now mabey the frame is ok on the 87 but knowing its been bent just doesnt make me to happy. also is the body just as stong on the 83 as the 87? if anyone can help please do. thankyou in advance.

Yes you can swap everything from the 87 to the 83.

you can absolutely change everything over from the 87 body to the 83. I'm doing the same thing right now swapping everything over from an 88 formula to an 84 T/A. Don't fool yourself though, it's a lot of work! It will also depend on what you decide you "might as well do" while you have it apart. Mine included having the engine compartment repainted and having the inner fenders smoothed. This definitely added to the length of downtime. then there are all the little problems and costs of replacing damaged or worn parts. You'll be going from carbed to fuel injected, so you're looking at swapping gas tanks to have the proper sending unit. I'm furtunate to be able to reuse my fuel lines, but my sending unit was rusted beyond repair. In short, costs add up quickly and progress is slow.
