Tail Light Restoration
I was reading somewhere about tail light restoration and how to remove the grim and haze off the tail lights by using what I thought was sandpaper. Am I losing my mind or is it out there somewhere, anyone have ideas on how?? Also the center panel where the trunk lock is, is there a way to get rid of the discoloring?? Any ideas, or if you know where the site that talks about is, let me know!
Thanks as always

Wet sand... wet sand.. wetsand Blue magic plastic polish = BLING
for tail lights, i'd recommend just using 1000 and 2000 grit sand paper (wet sand it), Sand it to a smooth surface with the 1000 and an even smoother surface with 2000... then get a buffing wheel (or drill with a buffing wheel) on low power, use some plastic polish (blue magic, got the stuff at auto zone in the polish aisle). Be careful not to be too agressive with the wheel. The results should be evident almost pretty quickly.
There's a thread with more details about this, this was just my own experience with sanding as I just finished sanding and blacking out my tail lights..... good luck to ya.

I bought a polishing kit from the local Hobby Town USA that had polishing cloths from 2400-12000 grit. Did my shifter plate, filler panel and one tail light so far,and they look better than new. The kit cost around $20.00 and cam with a rubber sanding block and supper fine polishing compound. Chris
