Just one quick price question
I was wondering if $300 would be too much to ask for 85-87 refinished iroc wheels. I was going to refinish my irocs (i have all the stuff too) but i decided to go for some ZR-1 rims.. but i wouldn't mind doing the work.. Would $300 be too much to ask for a set of refinished IROCs? how much should i expect to get out of them?
thanx

*btw, by refinished, i mean wetsanded and polished, 100+ hours into the wheels over the winter

imho, if you are doing all that work to sell them it's not really worth it 100 hours of labor for 300 dollars is 3 bucks per hour
I would ask more and I am sure you could get more if you do all that work

I think it depends on what exactly you mean by refinish. Are you talking machining and everything, or do you mean just stripping cleaning and repainting?
....I'd want more than $300 for my wheels. They're in great condition with only very very minor scratches (too deep for sanding) on 1 wheel. The paint is almost perfect and they've been polished.
I Think Hawk's is charging around $700 or $800 for machining and everything.
Here are mine after polishing.

im in the process of polishing mine now. im takin out all the machining grooves so they r smooth as glass. i have about 10-15 hours in em and i have about 3/4 of a wheel done. if i did sell em id live to get alot more than 300 cause of the hard work im puttin into them. i want zr-1's too but i just love the look of the irocs. perhaps i have to buy another camaro
by the way i have 85-87 single line style. i donno which r more popular. if anyone knos please let me kno. love the single line style.

430sut: Exactly what i am doing.. stripping and sanding all clear and paint away, sanding down until its ten times better than stock (no machining groves, just smooth as 'glass') and then im gonna polish and repaint the grey parts...
thats what i meant by refinish.. not have them remachined, but use a lot of time with high grit wetsanding and such.. i've got about 3/4 of a bend spare IROC rim done.. and im very happy with how it looks... but i want to be able to get some cash out of them, otherwise i'll just try to sell them as is (clear coat is crap, one rim is painted black, that kinda stuff)..
thanks for the hlep guys
