KITT lightbar
There are two reasons I want to do this. #1, the KITT nose is too damn expensive. #2, I cant use my 84 GFX on a KITT nose. Here is the proposal: do any of you think it would be possible to use a KITT lightbar on a STOCK 84 nose? I want to paint the car all black, and make it "KITT2" or "KNIGHT2" and have a purple scanner. Opinions?

Yeah, with a little modification it is indeed possible.. I've seen it done... but I have seen it done 2 ways.. really good.. and really ****ty... so take your time in modifing the nose or it will look like crap.

I'd be interested in knowing who sells such a thing. Would be cool to look stock but still be able to have a ping pong effect strobe light above nose at night.

It can be done, easily. I have mapped it out several times. There is a "Knight Rider Replica" page out there somewhere, showing people who have done it both.

There is also a scanner light that mounts under the hood so you see the lights a night only. Its by Knights of England. I dont have there website, But you can find a link on the other one.
Best of luck and lets see som pictures when its done

115 pounds(uk money) translates into about $175 to $200 dollars. I honestly would rather have a regular one and cut the nose. J C Whitney has ones that can be upgraded for $33. Whitney has them available in red or amber only(but you can probably change that

And Ive search the Knight Rider Replica database to find a car with a Whitney scanner and stock nose and included links to those cars

(not a whitney but stock nose)

Cool, i like the pic with the green lights in that white car. It doesnt look like it would be that difficult a thing to acomplish. I am currently looking at the "evo1" scanner on ebay for 239.

fThe JC Whitney 'scanners' are very cheaply made, but I needed a quick/cheap alternative when I started. My sig is the JC scanner. I've since upgraded to an Irviscar one.
BTW, I got my Kitt nose off ebaymotors for $450.

They are cheap but the beauty of them is they are upgradeable. for another $50-$60 at a home depo you can turn it into a nice one
