Is that homemade panel going in place of the ash tray?

Well GetB...as you can see, I've updated the photo and this should answer clearly where the cupholder is intended to go later today

the actually make prefab cup holders with a storage tray that fit on the doors. you can get them from third gen resource, but they're like $40 each. but they do look original though. i'd show a pic of them, but don't know how to post on here. i could email a pic, unless someone would tell me how to post pics on here.

I won't buy anything from thirdgenresource. They advertised a full set of grey seatbelts for $75. When I asked what it would be to ship to Washington state. They said the total would be $150. Friggin rediculous. The guy said he didn't know what his site said for price, just that $150 was the best he could do. Not a good way to run a business

that's odd. they were selling 92 z28 grills on ebay. they were ending for like close to $90. i went on their site and picked on up new for a total of $50 with shipping. i had no prob with them. guess it's just one of those things.

Are these aftermarket panels the ones shown in the carpet section of the Next Generation catalog, or are those a factory thing? I'll throw the picture in if i can figure out how.
http://www.yearone.com/nextgenparts/...interior2.html

maybe that'll work...
I want something like that if i can find it.

A clarification to my last post. Apparently I wasn't specific on which set of seat belts I was inquiring about. In this case the misunderstanding would be my fault.
Guess next time I'll wait to rant until I have all the info. hehehe

That's because there is too many people on ebay and some of the dealers make fake accounts, then bid on their own stuff to bring up the price. Funny, I could only get offers of 25 bucks for grill I had. BTW Brand new from GM the grills only $50.

The cup holder thing in the second picture is a factory one that was available on 91-92 firebirds.

Hey scooter, I don't see the second pic but I would really be interested in seeing this factory cupholder for the Firebirds. I am tired up spilling my Coke on me and my car. Maybe it would work with a Camaro.

The ones in the 91-92 Firebirds are large enough to hold a big gulp without any trouble. I do like the way you made use of the ashtray space. Nice job

The car held the McDonalds cups tonight, that have the smaller bases on them, and the blue switch controls my electric fan manually GB , Thank you BK, I put a little effort into it, and no, I still see carpet... for now

thanks for your opinion man but how does it make the interior ugly, the firebirds have em stock in the door panels and its functional. this guy right here obviously doesnt smoke, i give him 2 thumbs up for utilizing dead space.

even if you do smoke,a wide mouth can with a little liquid in it is a much better ash tray anyways and good for spitooning, tabacco is banned from my car.

They're nice but I'd much rather have them in the door panels where it's wasted space. Besides, I play with my radio all the time and I also have switchs in the ash tray.

I have a homemade cupholder behind the power window switches in the console, where the big clock went in the early 3rd gen Camaros. I cut up a old style tranny hump cup holder thing they sell at Pep Boys. 10 stiches in my thigh later (plunged the razor box cutter into my thigh up to the hilt) it works great. I'll get pics one day.
Plus I have the Firebird door cup holders Port and Starboard.

I have me a nifty spillmaster! its the best cupholder i ever bought, its velcroed to the top of my console and it doesnt move, and it even has an adjustable piece, that baby can hold even bigger than mcdonalds supersize drinks! It's not the best location, you kinda gotta reach to get it and beleive me when your driving its not that easy when its dark, but you get used to it! =)
