Pic of 6" cowl on Formula

Well, finally here's a pic of my Glasstech 6" cowl hood. I just got the car back from the paint shop and all put back together, minus the glass and interior. I am in the process of re-doing the entire car from the ground up.

I know a hood like that could be a little extreme for alot of people, but I really need the clearance. There is no engine or trans in the car right now, but I'm building a large cubic inch small block for drag racing. I am using a very tall sheet metal intake...and with carb and air cleaner it will almost touch the top of the scoop. I didn't want to have the engine sticking out of the hood, so I went with the big cowl...should look pretty tough when it's all done!

BTW, the color is '96 Vette Admiral Blue, also called Dark Cloisonne Metallic. I'll try and get some more pics up soon.

Drewcifur, thanks! I disassembled the entire car so I could get everything painted. Jambs, engine compartment, underside of the hood...everything. I wanted it to look as if it came from the factory that color. I got a pretty good deal considering I did all of the take-down and re-assembly. The only thing the body shop had to do was strip the old paint and prepare it for the new color. Luckily the car is rust free and dent free! LOL
I also knew the body shop manager personally from previously working with him at a dealership so he cut me a very good deal, $1800, and it's an excellent job. I'm very happy with it. Thanks again for the compliment!

hey Top Form,
could you email the pic to me. I am behind a firewall and I can't see it. I have tried a bunch of different ways, but the problem is the firewall.

Thanks,
Jesse

Pentatonic, the fit was pretty near perfect right from Glasstech. Just some very minor tweaking with the rubber stops and the latch. There is a small area that needed to be cut out by the turn signals so the hood sets all the way down, but that was no big problem at all. All in all, I'm very happy with it.
