I'd make sure its leaking because the Chrome is pitted. Its prob more then that.
As for stripping chrome. Blasting it will take FOREVER. find a company that does chrome plating and they can strip em in about 10min. I strip chome parts all the time befor I powdercoat them.

well i know its the chrome for a fact becuz the guy im buyin them off of we work at pepboys. both in the service dept. and ive had to seal the bead twice. first time just put some bead sealer in there and fine for a few days. then it leaked again soo i took a wirewheel to all the spots that the chrome bubbled and was flakin off. resealed it and that lasted for like 2 weeks. he got tired of them leakin so he boughtnew rims off ebay.
if the alumin is alittle pitted i can fix that. im a welder at a sheetmetal and custom fab shop so welding alumin. isnt anything new to me.

I got 4 of my wheels beadblasted to sandblasting but they obviously use a less abrasive bead material instead of straight sand. It cost me a tad bit though but they came back spotless, I think 100 for 4 wheels isnt that bad.

try the wire wheel alot more those impala rims getting everywhere the rubber touches the metal, and use lots and lots of bead sealer. i work at a tire shop and we do this all the time to tire that leak aound the bead...its not guaranteed to last forever but it should last at minimum 3-4 months
