It depends on the kind of paint and the color. The last paint I bought listed over $400 per gallon but that is the upper end of the scale. Proper materials and paint for an excellent job will be $800-$1200. The material bill for my IROC was over $1300.
Makes me wonder how Macco can paint a car for $400.

Last I heard macco (where I live) can paint so cheap because the use an enamel paint with a urethane catalist(sp?) additive whis gives it a fair gloss but can be enhanced easily with a fast color sand & good cheap clear coat. http://www.angelcities.com/members/g...rs/burban1.jpg
I painted my (ex)suburban with a little over a half gallon of white enamel with the urethane converter.. total repaint was under $100

PPG makes an exelent urathane called CLV. Concept LV is my favorite material to work with. It's very shiny, not hard to apply, and last long. Ruf, tuf, and durable!! It costs around $40-50 a quart. The hardener costs around the same. The ratio is 2-1 paint to hardener. I live in Cali, so we are under pollution control so I don't Know exact prices, that's what I pay. For your ride, you shouldn't need more than a half to two thirds of a gallon. Btw, CLV is a single stage, so you don't need clear, but you can use it. Be sure to let it dry though.
