those are the silver ones. i was thinking about getting the hyper black ones but since the colors of the car are so dark i didn't wont the wheels to get lost in the overall look. i really liked the way it turned out and the finish on them is very nice. great buy for only $700.

i also purcased these, but mine are hyperblack and i thought i spent only $500...could be wrong. nope no spacers are needed for these rims they are a direct bolt on and give the car a much more agressive and atractive stance

i paid $700 for them cause i got em only about 2 months after they came out but the prices have dropped since. the car is also lowered an inch. post up some pics of your hyperblacks.

Are these the 17x8 ones specifically for 3rd gen offset? I can't really tell from the pictures (too far away). I think the 3rd gen ones have a deeper dish on the lip and in the center.

yes those are the 17 x 8s. The dish is considerably deeper than the fourth gen zr1s. You can purchase these wheels directly from slp, or you can get them from fbodymotorsports, or hawksthirdgenparts like i did. The reason i gottem from hawks is that i was buying lowering springs, shocks, and struts at the same time and i figured it might be cheaper on shipping.

Alright it will be a couple weeks though, I will have tires on within a week and they will be on the car as soon as it gets back from paint which will be a couple weeks Im thinking. What size tire would you guys recommend? I also putting some less expensive tires on for the time being since Im young and dont see a need $200+ tires yet.

Wow, they do make the car!!
Just throwing this out there.... when I was looking for white ZR1 wheels today, I found these silver ones on Ebay in 18x9 for $299 with no reserve. They have white ones that never sell all the time. (too bad I need 17's for my new BFG KDW's...)

Are "replica" wheels not as well constructed as factory wheels?

I like the looks of these wheels and I really like that they are made specifically for thirgens. Spacers are expensive. But I have a question. The SLP ad says they are "painted". So does this mean they are a steel wheel with some kind of coating/paint on them? This would be as compared to an aluminum wheel with no paint on it. It seems like the steel/painted ones would be more likely to chip off eventually, also they would be heavier. I guess for that price they would still be a good deal

OK, that would be good. I wonder how we could be sure though. So the silver AND the hyperblack are painted, or just the hyperblack. The clearcoate would be the same in both cased I guess.

To verify if they are aluminum vs. steel, I'm sure someone could post up - or you can call SLP's sales dept: (732)349-2109

I have the hyper blacks and honestly I cant tell at all because there is a line on the picture as you can see where its not hyper4 black. Its almost as if there like anodized that color but I defidently dont think it adds much weight at all because if it is paint of some sort it is very thin.

i'm sad to say that yesterday i screwed up my rims. I was taking off the wheels to put new front brake pads on. I had Dobbs put on the wheels and tires and they did it with an air gun but they never backed them off and hand tighten them. So i tried a four way wrench and that didn't fit the odd size lug nuts they used. So then i had the wrench that came with the car. Well it got all but one of the lugnuts that i broke trying to get it off. After they were off i noticed that in each hole the lugwrench scratched the paint pretty bad. So now i'm pissed. The only semi good thing is that its really deep in the holes and not noticeable unless you really look but it still sucks. So for those of you who have these wheels, be very careful while taking these off or you'll make the same mistake i did.

I just ordered a set of hyper blacks from Hawks last week, I talked to B.J and she said they should be here in about 2 weeks...
...I'm assuming you guys reused the stock lug nuts?
These wheels look very tight on our cars, can't wait to get mine wrapped up in my kumhos and on the camaro...
