cheap 17" wheel?
cheap 17" wheel?
post any suggestions for any wheels out there that will bolt up directly to our cars for $150-200 a rim msrp in a 17" size.
they have to be a 1 piece forged/cast design as i only have 12 days to finish this particular project for contest. looking for something like the TTII in design but cheap and painted or otherwise is of no concern. the car is a 84, custom permanent convertible roadster with no top at all. it's viper blue with white and red theme.
any suggestions i'd appreciate it!

Eagle Alloys has a couple. One is a 212 I think, kinda has a teardrop look. The 202 I think is there TTII style.

Here are those cheap Eagle Alloys
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=43956
Good price for the wheels but I would want the real thing.

thanks for the opinions... i haven't looked into a single piece design in awhile so i'm not aware of what's really out there and i don't have time to have anything built so i need something you can walk into a tire store and get the next day.we've only been given a budget of $600 for wheels and tires but i have a set of 245/45/17's laying around i'm going to donate to up the wheel size on the project so i'm trying to find something resonable that will get away from the 15" stock wheels on it now.

I got each of my 17x9 snypers for $200 each. They are a single piece cast wheel and have the insides of the spoke painted and the faces polished. They are clear coated and easy to keep clean and looking great.

You guys should listen a little better, he cant afford wheels at $200 dollars each. His budget is around $600 and he needs tires. I would think about the SLP's even though they will cost you about $650 though but those tires you have will fit and hyper black looks pretty good imo. This is just my opinion but if you want I have plenty of pics. Mine also took under a week to ship from Hawks, dont ask me how because everything else I've ordered from them has taken 3 weeks.
If you dont want to do that I would refurbish some irocs, those are 17s right?

Alright I see what your saying but I still think a few of the mentioned wheels cost a little over $200. I'm still a little confused because he says $600 for wheels and tires yet also $150-200 which would come to $600-800 not including tires.

I dont think any mentioned wheels that were over 200 ea by more than a dollar or two.
ROH ZS 17x8.5 $184 ea
ROH Snyper 17x8 $202 ea
And the ones i posted are WELL under 200 each, heck they are $170 ea in chrome from www.discounttiredirect.com
Dont forget about the hot wheels rims Jeff.

thanks for the opinions guys... the budget really kills it for sure. keeps it interesting though. trying to find something with a dish, unfortunately with such a close date at hand it's really, really difficult. i'll have to see what happens but again i appreciate it.
anything basic, flat and 5 star is what i'm looking for with a slight dish of any kind would be great.
so far i'm looking at something like this.
http://www.aewheel.com/wheels_detail.cfm?id=291
although heavy the gun metal painted inserts and chrome will go well with the paint theme and at $400 out the door it fits the budget very well.

He wants to spend about $600 for a set of rims, probably 17x8 probably since he has 245 series tires.

I wonder if any of the *ahem* "import enthusiast" brands offer a wheel in the bolt pattern and offset you need? $100 17" wheels are a dime a dozen in the import world.

Hopefully its not too late Jeff, these can be done since you said you can get some adapters no prob:
They look very good and only $680 for the 17x9.

This may be a little off topic, but just curious, what kind of contest are you in? Your on a time-line and budgeted. Is it sort of a fun fund raiser sort of thing? How long did you get start-finish to do it, and what were the rules you had to follow?

I still say powercoat, polish, or chrome a set of the stock wheels, probably some junky irocs. Dirt cheap often and can look very nice in the end.

as far as discounts... one can only work so much. many of the things for the restoration i donated from my other cars. i did what i could in the time i had, we tried to find wheels as cheap as we could and ended up using 16's because i couldn't find a decent 17" in time to use my tires. many companies threw out their hands to help but unfortunately wheels just weren't something that was possible in the time line. i could have bolted on something that looked completely wrong but decided against it. in the end a restored set of irocs went with her.
it was a fun experience, i appreciate all the suggestions but it's over now. the car raised $9,764 which was great.

That's excellent! Almost $10 grand raised. That's the kind of thing that makes hard work and running around worth it, love hearing about money being raised for great causes.
