"Wax" at car washes
You know, at the coin-op washes, there is a switch position for "wax". Is this bogus, or what? Can you actually suspend wax in water and just spray it onto your car and really do any good? I've never used it, but am very skeptical. Does anyone know if and how this works?

I've used it... I think it's kinda bogus though. It just looks like a lot of hot soapy water to me. LOL

I'm not sure how it works, but I'm guessing it's possible. I've seen the "ZipWax" at car stores and when it sets for awile the wax and the soap element are separated. The "ZipWax" I think is made by Turtle Wax and is used as soap and a wax. I really don't think that the car wash wax is really wax that will protect your car. I personally wouldn't use it because I've seen it used before and it looks like it leaves a "film" on your car.

There was a class action lawsuit in the newspapers not too long ago about Blue Coral sealents, one type of wax used in car washes. It didn't give the protection they claimed it would.
