KITT adopted the equalizer looking one in season two.

i am also planning a knight rider conversion (exterior only) i have so far the wheels (84 TA with bowling ball hubcaps. ULTRA RARE) and the power bulge hood. niether of wich are installed yet. i will order the nose/scanner combonation when i get her painted (two tone black over grey) and i will have a yellow scanner.

cooltc2004---> can you post that link in this thread or email it to me too? thank you.
I hate myself for knowing this but KITT adopted the KARR looking talk light in the later eps of season one whereas before it was just a red square that lit up. Yes I'm a nerd.

I got the light, and its just the JCwhitney light, its ok in the daylight and the good thing about it is that it doesnt bother any cops during the day. At night its bad *** and it works perfectly.
I actually cut a hole in the upper middle of my stock bumper and put the light in there. It looks great, and it has me debating wether I want the knight nose or not. I am going to six flags tomorow but on thursday I will post some pics of the nose. It just looks great, a lot better than I thought and cops give me no trouble.

On the other note, I am getting my interior sewn up by a seemstress and she is doing my door panels. they are going to be two tone red and black with a black knight rider symbol over the red. Its vynil and its bad! (bad as in good )

Next up is the 350 and than paint job.

In a month or so I will have a totally new lo5 with some good heads. I checked the numbers and 300ft/lb torque sounds good. Also, laughing gas on top (50-75) shot and we are in bussines.

I own the knight rider game made by davilex for PC and I went exploring it, and I took out whole bunch of KITT speaking phrases. So I will try to incorporate that into my car somehow. Maybe a laptop with speech recognition program. And than I can program for it to say stuff back.
Like, Yes Michael, ofcorse it will be saying my name, but you get the point.
I got few good lines from KITT,
"I suggest we use turboboost"
"I suggest we ram him"
"Super pursuit mode will add 212% more speed to our current one"
"Scan innitiated"
etc.
I thougth those would be cool. If I can only make the program recognize the word "Race". Like "He want to race" and than my boost button lights up and kit replys "I suggest we use turbo boost". It would be so freaking cool.
The good thing is that I think I can do it.

What do you guys think.

P.S. If I do it, I will post all the programs and how to do it as well.
It would be for non-programing peeps like myself.

I think the bumper is hideous. The ONLY reason I'd use it is if I was making a KITT clone, and that includes the black paint. Its all preference so good luck and take some pics. Also, it'd be sweet if you made it talk when you lock/unlock the car (use a digital recording IC).

Man you sound like a kid in a candy store hehe.

I can see how some people may not like KITT. They may see the kitt builders as sort of a fringe 3rd gen group that doesn't really qualify. But love for third gens and KITT can be mutually exclusive. Of course with the kind of car they set out to portray in Knight Rider, I don't see how anyone wouldn't want a car that can do all that car does, and in a 3rd gen package to boot!

Personally, if you're going to do a KITT, you should do it right and make it what it should be. I'm not saying it can't be customized to your taste, but if it is, don't cut corners. But that goes with any project. You can go halfway on a project and while it satisfies you, others may see it as shoddy if it's not done right. That's your perogative of course, and you should enjoy your car as you see fit.

But when you go all the way on a project, even the naysayers can tell you "man that's a sweet paint job" or "dude the custom work is tastefully done". Anyway it's your car, enjoy it as you want... that's why we're all here, right?

If you want some good info on building a Knight Replica, go here:
http://www.knightregistries.com

Lots of info on building a replica or near-replica. I've met several people from there (they used to have their nationals in Dayton Oh the same weekend as the TA Nats, and one of the guys is always at the STARS show in FL too), and they're nice guys.

Hehehehehe, The scanner looks so good that I am seriously thinking of not getting the front nose. I will have the pics tomorow, since I turned em in kinda late today. You will like what you see.
Right now I am taking my 98 computer apart and taking out the motherboard. I plan on installing it somewhere in the car. I am thinking under the driver seat. Installing few ventilators to cool it down. I will hook up the turn on button to a switch and than go from there. Get the cd player going as well. Kinda like KITTS in the console .

I am also thinking of hooking it up to the ALDL and reading what the car does the whole time.

I am still thinking of hooking up a monitor somewhere, and kinda thinking of how to do it without having a computer.

A monitor would be really good in place of the two vents in the middle of the console.

I am getting the program going as well. Right now it replys in normal voice, but soon I will get KITT's phrases in too!
