Pics - My Finished Camaro

After about 6 months I have finally finished my 86 z28 and thought I would post some pictures. It is had 65,000 miles and the color is red tint 3 coat metallic or magnetic red and the GFX are cut in with a metallic charcoal. The interior has also been swapped from gray to a new charcoal/black combo. Any opinions about anthing are appreciated especially.

Love the ZR1s. I usually don't like the different color ground effects, but on this one I'll make an exception.

Everyone is always suprised that its a manual, are they that rare? I still dont think cutting the headlight pockets in would look right. I like that look normally but just dont think it would work on my car especially since the GFX and black but possibly.

sweet ride man. i'm loving the gfx and interior especially. man that thing has come a looooooooong way. the only critique i have are the zr1's. besides the fact that i never really liked them to begin with, everyone has them.

but anyways, beautiful camaro.

oops, I stole the car and painted the pockets...

personally, I like them painted the body color.

edit, I wanted to be generous too, so I added the clear side markers.

I really like how you picked charcoal for the GFX. It looks 30x better than black would. I must say I am a huge fan of 2 tone cars. Are you planning on putting Z28 stripes along the bottom or are you leaving it like that?

Fortunately, spearson knew the correct way to fill the pockets I was going to do it myself, but no need! I think it looks much better with the pockets colored the gfx color, personally.

it's a very nice car, but the top color is a little too pink for me. Maybe it's just the picture, tho. The car looks like it had a lot of quality work done to it, tho. Nice job!

First off let me say your car looks great. You are right, it has come a very long way and has been well worth it. So far no one has mentioned that you have the SLP 17" SS wheels on it that are made for 3rd Gen's. Its awesome to see a car with them and to see how they look. I applaud for you doing exactly what you wanted to with the color, GFX, and interior. Your car is beautiful and after seeing it and just how far it has come it helps give me hope that I can get my IROC where I want it one day soon.

Haha all good ideas but Im still young and after spending the past 6 months coming in after school (yes school) and sat and sundays I think Im going to at least take a few weeks off and rest, maybe get a real job. I plan on replacing the steering wheel, creating a fiberglass box for the rear since I already ran my line back there just in case, new pedals and shift **** possibly, grid taillights as soon as I find a few more neds from the junkyard, and come winter when I wont be driving the car I will screw with the motor (LG4 w/5spd) but I dont know what yes. My options are something like mod the 305, swap a 350, create a 383, or stick an LS1 in there. Personally I would love to get an LS1 because I can get a great engine in a modern, strong, effecient packagel. I used the VPA kit from Summit but I am kind of having mixed feeling about it. The way they ran the system is kinda funny and causes you to only be able to hit the button a couple times and after that you have to wait like 10 seconds but there cool for sure. The kit has 4 channels, 2 buttons, 1st button for driver, 2nd for passenger, both togather to hit my lights if I need to find my car at night, etc.

Really nice car. Great paint. I think you should paint the buckets too. And I like the picture better with the car wash girl in it.

Since you are in South Bend let me be the first to invite you to join us over on the No. Indiana/So. Chicago board and to our cruises and stuff.

Wow, that looks killer. I would NOT paint the headlamp areas, for some reason every time someone posts a car with them body color everyone and thier brother jumps on and says "paint them black". I like them body color, but that's just my opinion.

It is a very beautiful car, and the headlight buckets should be left the body color, but if you decide to change them, make sure to paint them the same color as your ground fx, not black.
