Rim opinions

Alright i got some money to spend on rims...about 1300-1700$ and thats with tires, depends on how much i can get for my cragars...but i got some questions and what not.

Im pretty set on 17s...seems like best for handling, drag, and looks

Question about Z06s...do they bolt right up or do i need adapters?

And this prolly an all around question but what is the largest i can run so thats its flush and doesnt stick out. like 17x9.5? will those fit and look good?

id prolly do something like a 17x9.5 rear 17x8.5 front...give me some opinions on some good setups?

What sizes will rub and what not?

heres a pic of my car if any of you got an opinions on what you guys would think fits my car best id like to here them.

you need Adapters to get Z06 rims. IMHO, i would get your stock 91-92 Wheels and polish them. And save it up for a supercharger! Those would be very nice with your car. Aftermarket rims arent always all that great. jmo

If you sell those rims let me know.

As for what would look good, C5 or C6 rims looks pretty sweet, if you dont want to go with the over used ZR1s

Normally i would suggest a custom wheel built to your personal specifications, but with your budget i dont think that is possible, your best bet would be to get some Zr1's or Z06's,Zr1's fit a thirdgen best IMO. You can get either rim from ebay from anywhere between 400-700 a set, but the adapters makes up for the cheap price. You may get lucky though and find a better design for cheap. As far as width, I believe you can fit a 10 inch wheel in the rear and a 9 in the front if you have the right backspacing/offset but don't quote me on that one.

are z06 rims same bolt pattern and everything as like new SS camaro rims? In other words would z06 rims fit on a 93-02 camaro without any adapters?

i dont wanna do ZR1s...id do it as a last hope, i think they look nice but over used id like to go a little different

Id like a set with a nice dish to them but its kinda hard to do with 17s...

I dont really want ronals, they just look to weird at a certain angle

roh wheels are nice, and are third gen specific. go to www.groupawheels.com or www.jdwheels.com
The ZS wheels are good looking and not a tone of people have them.

id love to get boyd smoothies but they are too expensive

Im going for a street look mainly.

I like TT2 style but those are too common, i like rims with a 1-2" lip but its too hard to get.

Lets say i went with Z06 rims...what sizes should i get, i definently wanna stay with 17s...but like 17x9.5 rear and 17x8.5 front would that work?

for 275, I'd recommend a 9" - 9.5" wheel. You CAN fit a 275 on an 8". but it looks a little funny.

Im not a fan of the ronal's but looking at your car they might not look to bad if the center of the wheels were powdercoated black with the polished lip.

I honestly would go with a set of hyper black Zrl's. They fit without adaptors and were designed for our cars, are pretty cheap considering your other options, I dont know anyone besides myself (bias of course) who has these from SLP in hyper black. Cheap, easy to find, look great imo, and were meant for our cars.

I'd get the ROH ZS then get yourself some paint and paint the centers white, that should look very nice on your car.

Here's one... American Racing's Chrome Rebel. It's a 5-spoke design with some depth, a "strong" look, and a rounded lip. 17" x 9" would be my size of choice, but it's available in 18" and 19" too, if that's what you like. $225/each, and it also requires spacers.

With a set of 275/40-17 Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals all around($700/set), I think they'd look awesome on a thirdgen... and you'll be within your budget.

Personally, I'd stay with the same size wheels and tires all around. That size will look as great as any, and you'll be able to rotate them.

I was gonna get these for my Formula, but I decided to keep it stock-ish, having the stock wheels chromed instead. But if I ever build a project car, another Formula(and I hope to in the next year or so), I'll definitely be putting on the Chrome Rebels.
