Cleaning IROC rims

I bought a set of IROC rims and I am trying to clean them. I have used Eagle1 wheel cleaner and that cleaned most of the dirt and stuff off. But the only stuff I cant get off is this meldo (sp) stuff. They have been sitting outside for a while. But I cant get that meldo or w/e it is (it is stained on...could be brake dust) but I was wondering if anyone know what would clean that off?

Without seeing a pic, its hard to tell. But sounds like you will need to clean the paint off with some aircraft stripper and repolish them. Easy to do now with the wheels off and no tires on.

if you use any kind of stripper....the clear will come off...which is want you want....but the colored portions of the wheels will come off too...which is what you don't want....because then, you will have to match and repaint all of the color portions too. If your really good ask masking.....then mask off the painted areas and just strip the clear off of the aluminum portion of the rims.
