Sell or Part out?
Sell or Part out?
I don't really know the best place to post this so moderators feel free to move it.
I have a 1991 Camaro RS with a 305 and 700R4. It's in rough condition to say the least and I need to get rid of it. I don't know whether I should part it out or sell it whole. Plus if I do sell it whole I don't know what to expect price wise, I can only assume very little.
A run down of the car is that it has no AIR tubes, muffler is gone and may or may not be replaced depending on how my financial situation continues. It has rust in many places on the body with the hood primered. I'll list a link to my cardomain page which shows the exterior very well. Other than that, the interior is relatively beat up, rips in both seats, crack in the dash and the shifter console, holes in rear panels for speakers by past owner. The car has roughly 115000 miles on it though the odometer says 13XXXX because i changed the entire cluster out for a functional tach.
I can get more pictures if that will help but I need an idea of what i can get if i part it out or sell it whole. Also, if anyone is interested they can PM me but right now I'm not listing it in the classifieds because I don't know what I want to do with it.
Also, i have a set of 081 heads, lt1 cam, TPI fuel pump that were planned to go it so if i sell or part it out they can go with for the new owner to put in. Again, being a college kid and my accidents have just killed all my plans for this car.

looking at the pics, i see that you F'd up that Camaro really bad. I don't think you can sell it in good consence (spelling is really bad there!) unless it's understood that it's strictly for parts. I say you sell what parts you can, then send it off to the junkyard. The best parts you can sell from it are the 3 good rims, air bag steering wheel if intact, tail lights, fenders, side ground effects, maybe t-tops, and perhaps some misc. interior stuff. Good luck with whichever route you choose

Your frame isn't necessarily bent. You just marred the underside unibody rails a bit but that doesn't mean it is bent. You can have your car checked to see if it is bent or not for a pretty cheap fee. That may be good for some peice of mind. Does the car run? If so you may want to sell it as is. Parting out a car is a lot of work and can be annoying. If you don't have any real plans to work on the car than it may be a good time to part your ways and get what you can for it. There are plenty of soilid 3rd gens that need less work than your car that can be had for really cheap.
I car runs fine, i haven't had a problem with the drivetrain since I bought it. Where would I take the car to have the frame checked out to see if bent or not? Also, if I was to sell it what kind of price could I expect for it?

You should probably sell it. Go to car shows and tell people about it there. Because that's where you'll find someone willing to restore it. Or just park it for ten years and wait for the value to go back up.

Sell it. I've seen people buy worse cars to fix up...just be honest about the damage underneath...
