hi,

i these past few weeks ive noticed a substantial change in handling. just this afternoon while merging on the freeway i almost lost the rear-end completely. i fishtailed so bad i almost hit a truck. now by no means am i a crazy driver, i just think my rear tires have lost their grip. i was thinking of upgrading tires and rims. i was thinkin about some ROH synper type rims with the 245z tires. does anyone know where i can find some quality tire/rim packages. ive been savin up for quite a while and would hate to get ripped off. so far ive seen 190 bucks for each synper rim.

http://www.tirerack.com sounds like a good bet to me, they have some great combos, and can usually get some cheap deals goin'. I sell tires, so I know that these are some affordable tires, usually.

Tirerack does not carry the ROH whls. I am going to go with the ROH Snyper whls when I get the money. They are $175 a piece(16x8) at www.groupawheels.com
Jeff is very knowledgeable about tire/wheels combos for third gens. Send us a picture when you get them. Also, they have Yokohoma A520 tires at a good price. They seem to be a good tire from what I have read in magazines.

Is it just me or do those ZS wheels look great on absolutely any car? From the Ferrari to the Z3 to the Vette. Every car looked good with those rims.

When I put my 17's on,handling improved a lot. Graig84Z mentioned Yokohoma A520 tires.I tried those but had three of them go bad on me in less than three months! After a few weeks with the yokohomas,my car started vibrating.I took it to get balanced,and they said it wouldn't balance right because three of them had the plies seperating.I had them show me,and sure enough,they were.I put on a new set of 275/40 from Kumho and they handle great and have lots of gripping power,even better than a set of dunlop sport 8000's I used to have.Anyway,I have the Snypers on mine and receive plenty compliments.By the way,where is everyone finding the Snypers so cheap? I paid $238 each for mine. Maybe different size?

just polish your rims and don't buy Z rated tires. The don't help handling that much...they wear much faster and are more expensive.

You can get a set of Centerline or American Racing rims (17 x 9.5), and wrap them with 275/40 tires. Personally I love the Torq Thrust II design. If you are looking for Z rated tires to go along with it, get a set of Pep Boys Ultra Z's. They perform very well for the money. Otherwise, just spend some cash on Michelin XGTZ4's. These are awesome tires, and last hella longer than BFG comp t/a's!

 

BTW you'll need 5.5" backspacing on those rims, and it's really unlikely, but you may have to grind your outer tie rod ends a little to gain clearance.

 

In reply to AT4 T/A's response:I had a set of Michelin XTGZ4's on mine before.I liked them;They lasted many miles and saw a lot of high speed cornering and standing burn outs,but the grip wasn't quite as good as the Dunlop 8000's I used to have and the Kumhos I have now.Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, the ROH ZS is nice, my favorite aftermarket wheel.
