hey, a fellow 84 TA guy here. I think if you did a few small things to your T/A it would look awesome. Don't get me wrong, i think it's already sweet. Under the hood could use some work though... I would scrub it down, remove the stickers near the latch, switch to a non-A/C heater box since it's disconnected anyways, and get new clean coolant and washer fluid bottles. that would make a huge difference right off the bat. I also think some GTA crosslace rims or other 16" or 17" aftermarket rims would look awesome on it.
My T/A still appears stock on the outside, but is undergoing a major renovation starting under the hood. Here are a few pics:
I need to take a new pic of under the hood... here's what it was like in progress:

At the moment though I'm more worried about the mechanicals than the appearance. the transmission is going out, and i'm having some wiring problems. I actually put the stickers there on purpose, because I wanted to have my mod stickers somewhere that wasn't visible unless i was trying to show off the engine. i actually like my rims, I just wish they where more than 15's, but they are 9.5in wide so i'm not in a hurry to get rid of them. eventually i'm thinking of zr1 or z06 rims in 17 or even 18. the minor appearance stuff like the coolant and washer fluid bottles i'm not really worried about, or the a/c heater box. I think i'm going to get body work and paint done before I worry about spending money on that kind of stuff. my plan is to finish the exhaust, tune up the motor with the full exhaust on, put on my electric fan, and then start on the suspension and the other old parts that are worn out.
