clear coat

hey guys i was wondering if there is anything i can do with my clear coat peeling off. i dont want to get the car repainted b/c i cant afford it right now. but i was thinking maybe i could use a rattle can clear coat and make it look a little better.

dog chill out i havent tried anything yet thats why i asked im not experienced in painting i was just figuring this might help for a little while and if it did then i would give it a try i will be getting the car painted in the next year so i needed a temporary fix.

Yeah, definately dont use spray can clear, it never fully sets, and will be sticky forever, and you'll still see underneath it where the clear came off. It will look worse.

I have the same problem with the clear on my hood, i just try to peel off as much as i can...

Where is it peeling off at?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you might be better off getting all of the loose pieces off, and sanding the edges with some 400 grit to keep it from peeling anymore. I don't know though...

That may work depending on how bad it is.

With my hood, everytime it rains the clear bubbles up from the water.. but that may be because its fiberglass.

Don't think its got to do with fiberglass...my brother's RS did the same thing all over the top parts of the car...

well, the rest of the clear on my car is perfect, and my hood is an aftermarket cowl hood, so they may not have cleared it right.
