and no offence but .......ummm to the dude who referred to these cars as "muscle cars", there actually pony cars....... camaros,firebirds, trans ams, mustangs are all pony cars..just my 2 cents

 

and yet they made a 4 and two 6 cylinder engines to put into these 'muscle cars'.
a camaro or firebird is whatever you make it.

 

They made base models for pretty much every muscle car in the 60's and 70's too. Some even came in 4 door models so what's your point?
Car makers have always made junky base models for people who just want the look but can't afford the real thing. Eg. 2.8l camaros, neons with SRT styling, 4 cyl. mustangs, 6 cylinder and 4 door chevelles (which was definately a MUSCLE car)
And yeah, technically camaros are "pony" cars sorry for using the wrong terminology.
You guys are getting all mad cause I don't really like neons?
