My Sport Coupe Renewed

I just got here out of the body shop last Thursday. Got new quarter panels on the rear and a LOT of rust repair done.

So how does it look, eh?

Here's the last one I'm allowed

The noon day sun sure gives a guy a lot of variations in the colour and contrast departments, doesn't it!

Yeah, I hear you. They came with the car and had brand new Goodyear Eagle HPs so I didn't belly-ache at the time

Unfortunately, it is against the law here. And it is one the cops enjoy enforcing

Thanks!

The car is a simple study in red and black, and allowing them to show off the third gens' classic lines and form. I also left off the Camaro badging in order to emphasise the shape.

I really like the Formulas, too, because they also let you see the beautiful lines of the car.

I like ground effects, but there are more than enough of them and I kind of like being a tiny bit different. And, of course, the car had no ground effects when I bought it. Maybe I'll add them at some time in the future

That is a great compliment, thanks!!!

I really love the silver Berlinetta that ADV1 posted last week, too. I remember him posting several shots of it a couple years back and I stored them in my "Excellent third gens" folder where I use them for wallpaper from time to time.

As an observant person once said, "Brevity is wit." Simplicity can sure say a lot, and less certainly can be more

If I ever do put ground effects on it I'll try for the 91-92 style because I like them best, just like you

Looks nice! I actually like the wheels. Not my faves or anything, but they're all right.

Post a front shot so that someone can suggest painting the headlight pockets

No, they are standard thirdgen side mouldings from 1988 onward.

They already are painted--flat black. Same with the mirrors and the band around the bottom of the body.

I like the wheels to a certain extent myself.

Besides the quarters, what else did you have repaired rust wise?

Very sharp by the way.

All around the rocker panel areas and the odd spot of rust higher up in the doors, especially the passenger door which required the lower third of the skin to be chopped out. Also around the front wheel wells. All the standard places a thirdgen rusts.

They look heavy. Those wheels would be hella cool if they were magnesium.

I don't have a clue. There are no name markings on the rims anywhere

They are simple cast aluminum wheels. The sort you see on Jeep type 4x4s all the time.

If you mean cool, then I like them a bit too

If you really mean heavy, they aren't. They are just cast aluminum 15x7" wheels, very light. They came with the car when I bought it back in May 2001. Also came with Goodyear Eagle HPs, 225-60-R15s.
