Shaved Door Handels

I was wondering about how to install a shaved door handele kit. I just recieved the kit from summit( its the VPA kit )and was wondering how difficult are they to install. I read the directions and dont seem to hard( espically compared to the headers i just put in ) but never done it before. Pleas let me know. Also any Tips would be great. Thanx

After paint shop pro:

And yes I'm going to go with the shaved door handles and antenna. Not sure about the RS emblem yet. I'm curious about the actual unlocking solinoid. I heard stories about those kits and how they break because our door is a heave latch (requires some 25 lbs to unlatch) and that the solinoids where really only built to unlock car doors, not open them. If that's the case then I'm going to have to just buy the solinoids online for like $50 a pop to get the 50lb ones. The door poppers are only $4.99 online and I'd use my extra options on my avistart 6500 to open the doors. By the way, only reason I'm putting my money into the body is because my car was broken into twice, both doors have a hole and are missing the locks so I figured I'd just get rid of the whole invite and make it extra hard for somebody to break in.

If it does break you always have your keys to unlock the hatch with, which you could crawl thru.

Dude, your car does look just like mine. We also both have crosswinds accounts I see.
Where did you get the center cap/spinners? I need them for my car and what size rims are yours? Mine are 16x8 with 245/50 meats. Please e-mail me your responce, thanks.

My rims are 15's, not 16's, though the spinners should be the same. I got mine from a guy here in Houston, at a place called Hubcap Depot. The spinners were about $22 a peice, but it was well worth it. Centerline doesn't make them anymore, an aftermarket company does. Call Hubcap depot in Houston @ 281 464 7100, ask for Chris Rosado, he will know what you are talking about. Their website is Hubcapdepot.com

Climb through the hatch which is mechanically opened. Besides, get yourself a battery backup mate you know what I'm talking about. The thing that shuts off all power if the battery gets too low. Heck, you could easily wire up a mechanical bike cable to the rear so you don't actually have to climb through like a retard.

I was planning on doing this sooner or later also, how much does it cost to get the doors welded over and painted and everything else, anybody know?

That looks really clean, man I want to get this done soon. Figure the tack welds, bondo, sanding, prime, paint the whole door then clear coat. I'm guessing here but ~$400. If you do the welding, sanding prime etc I'm guessing only like ~$250 for paint and clear coat.

Im gettin ready to do mine, the hardest part i think is gonna be teh welding and smoothing of the welds to cover up the old handle, but ive done it to a Mazdawg pickup and it wasnt that bad. Other than that i think it will be simple.

Ive gone with a 35 lb kit that is made especially for popping a door open instead of just unlocking one. the kit total cost me around 117.00

as for shaving.. well ive shaved so far.... Front antenna, both front fender turnsignals, ALL factory emblems (nose, side skirts, and rear bumper. Even filled in that entire endentation on rear bumper.) and now goinng for door handles. Also added a 4th gen Trans Am Rear Spoiler to the trunk deck and shaved off the old factory rs one. So its getting there. I hope to paint this spring after taxes get back!

Ill let you guys know what its like once i get it painted.

I'm going to take a guess that he used VHT Niteshade or some other translucent modeling type paint on them. That's one sweet looking Camaro...
