Personally I love the old school look on my 86 because there are no ground effects.

That link takes me to the "grid light idea" but if your refering to the hood latch adjustment it doesnt really matter. The car doesnt have a hood any more.
Still waiting to find a fiberglass hood so i can cut it up and fit it over the turbo.

My 17" x 9"/275s front, 17" x 11"/315s rear, direct fit wheels, no adapters.
The fronts are 100% direct bolt on, the rears required a "bit" of hammer work & sheetmetal cutting.

Re: Fat Tires...Post Em
I respect the "tucked" look. But I honestly think you guys that are HARDCORE TUCK lovers, need to take it easy. When a tire is .5 inches further out than stock it does not constitute the THOSE STICK WAAAYY OUT comments. IMHO when you stay stuff like that, you sound very close minded. Remeber we are MODing our cars. If we want them stock then 99% of us would not need to be on this website. IT IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK DIFFERNT.
Anyways, now that I got that off my chest. I will post a pic of my tires now. Ther are 335's on 11" rims, mounted to a stock width moser 12 bolt. I am happy to say that I DO think they stick out too much, but once I put 315s on there, they should be fine.
And I do not think it looks white trashy at all. I was going to go through a ton of work to try and get them to tuck more, and everyone that I have shown that liver around here (Needham, MA) have told me to not touch them. People say it looks mean. So I will run these till they wear out. Then go with 315s (goodyear eagle G1s) I think they are called.
here is the pic and I will put on a racing suit to help protect me from the flames.....fire

i have 335/30/18's on my car, 8.5" of backspacing, tucked like stock. required a minitub
i can fit a 345/30/18 DR with no problems. still have 1/2" clearance to the new inner fender

old pic, forgive the crooked exhaust, its gone now

Re: Fat Tires...Post Em
its a 25.9" tall tire, the sidewall is a little taller then the front 40 sidewall, its just a percentage, and with a 13.5" wide tread, the sidewall is still prettly large. Its no rubberband. oh, and you cant get a 335 18 with a larger sidewall
