I like the 2" cowl

I'll play along. I like mine. 3 inch cowl from champion fiberglass.

 

I think the 2 inch cowl on thirdgens is barf. lol. SS hood all the way.

i like the ss, but i like the way the cowl hood comes to a point at the wind sheld, looks awesome from inside the car

 

i cant vote cuz i like both the Big Block hood & the RA2 hood...i like both the same way,thats why i got them on my cars..

 

Japanese hood for sure looks good I'd make my own variation of it though without the side vents.

I also have to agree with camaroguy18 because well I have a RAII hood also and I love it.

 

that japanese hood looks pretty slick, but i still have to go with the ss hood. I still have to get the bowtie grill and the 91-92GFX on the front and then it will look even better

I honestly think all the hoods that were posted look great on every thirdgen Camaro....IF they are done right with the rest of the car. Meaning.....style of the ground effects, paint scheme, stance of the car.....it all kind of fits together.

 

i usually dont like the cowl as much, but i thinm it fits my car

 

i agree it depends on the build of the car, for now i prefer the stock iroc/z28 accordingly or ss hood. cowl hoods on the irocs though.

 

i never really cared for the SS hood until I seen your car cause well most of them werent body color that i saw. Still in primer or gel coat. But with the red it looks awesome. I have to keep buying cars cause i like all these hoods

 

i like the cervini ram air hood. i cant find a pic right now, but i can get one. also the daytona (or turbo) hood, with the louvers on the cowl. but my favorite is the stock z28 hood with louvers.

 

That looks like a magazine shot... do you have any more of those professional shots they took besides the ones on gmhtp or the super chevy sites?

I would have to say the blister hood is my favorite stock hood, ss being my favorite aftermarket.

o i love it! plus its ram air and cowl induction perfect for carb or throttle body mounted air filter.

 

SS hood in my opinion for the 91-92s.

2 1/2" - 3" for the Irocs.


91-92 gfx with the scopes fits the hood and irocs got more of the smooth look in which i think the cowl fits perfect.

Me honestly id go with a 3" cervani for my car...as ive just loved cowls forever they got the intimidating look and just appeal to me.

I love those still/motion shots....looks like that was from the same shoot you had with gmht.....anyone know the trick to doing those? does it have to do with shutter speed

 

I <3 Jongbloed hoods. Follows the Camaro's stock lines. I'll be purchasing one along with a 5" spoiler this winter

 

shutter speed, an actual film style camera.. non digital as well as a gyro all played a part.

that and at least 3 people to take parts.

you need to a lead driver that can drive a perfect rate as well as steady.

good camera guy, someone who is small to fit in the trunk or a truck bed open enough to do so and a driver of the main car that can keep a 1-1.5' distance from the lead car without hitting the car. the key is to keep both cars steady and pacing in the end. the gyro on the camera was really something else as it was amazing how it cured the shaking that is common with most anyone during an open time lapse shot. i think over 200 of the 500+ shots were spent trying to get 1 good moving shot.

i wish they would have used more of them.

I'm a HUGE fan of the SS hoods on ThirdGens. They just make the car look so sleek and sexy! I'm actually going to get one for both my Camaro AND my Suburban when the cash flow starts getting good again

 

 

My vote is for SS or 2-3" cowls.

I think we sell more SS hoods than the others. I have two new molds about ready to start producing them . We have always been back ordered on these since we started manufacturing them in about 97 I think. Rex

Yea that's fiberglass. I had to cut out the factory scoops due to they wouldn't let the invert curve the way it should.

LMAO, no I haven't gotten one yet, thats actually a picture of a car I found on AutoTrader (guy wanted 8K for it, has functional ram-air on top of a 355) but I DID get a new hood, and I'm gonna get a scoop and make do it myself. So yeah, hopefully in the next 3 months or so you'll see a new thread on here from me

And the hood i hate the most is that ugly WS6 hood that should only be on late model 4th gen birds and NEVER on a 3rd gen.

Hey Rex, are the new molds any different than the original SS hood ?

 

I like the cowl hood but my cowl hood is 3"

 

I think it has a lot to do with what's under it.
For my TBI application I prefer the Goodmark Steel 2in Cowl.

I personally think the factory 91-92 hood w/ blisters is perfect. If we're only talking after market, a 2"-4" cowl hood fits the lines of these cars very well.
