Bikerack on your F body?

I'm guessing nobody buys a Camaro/Firebird for their utility but I ride a bikes a lot and I like to ski. Has anyone else been able to figure our how to haul skiis, bikes, or anything that you would usually expect to see on a sport ute?

I call these shots my Sport Utility Firebird series (and I hate my camera):

I haven't figured out skiis yet but I don't I think I'd try to drive in the snow... it's just not a strong point on our cars -- Instant Sled.

Details on this rack system: The only rack I could find that worked on my car was the Hollywood F1B. It also happened to be the cheapest of those that I looked at: ~$50 bucks. The Thule and Yakima racks for my car required a hitch mount only. There has to be more options for a roof rack on a hard top car. Any pics around of this from any members?

Hey Cadillac,
I have the same issue. First off, I would never want to put my expensive mountain bike on top or anywhere outside of my car while driving. I just have this phobia of the bike crashing to the ground!

Thus, I only carry my bike inside the car:

1: take off bike's front tire
2: Push the passenger seat forward, and lay back the backrest almost completely down (you'll have to play with the position).
3:Put the bike in the car...the rear wheel will sit in the rear seat section, and the front forks will end up in the passenger wheel well.
4:Play with the passegner seat to give the bike some support.

Now..I only use this tactic with top down driving. If you want to keep the top on, you may have to take off your seat.

In the vert, if the top is up, there is a nice hole that goes straight through to the back of the trunk. This is where the top is stashed when it is down. With the back seat down, I am betting the skiis would slide in there nicely but then you've just cut down on your luggage area.

Tommy: I put my MTB in the back of my car with the top down once and got grease all over the back of one of the front seats. Thankfully, "Pedro's grease cutter" cleaned it all out. Your method will work just fine so long as you don't have a passenger. The Hollywood rack I have does really well with up to two bikes.

We should hook up and hit some trails! We have a few within miles of both of us I'm sure. PM me!

I also do a lot of mountian biking and when I use the 3rd gen or the 4th gen I just take the wheels off fold the back seats down put the bike in with the fork toward the back of the car with the rear deruiler up, and Im off. Kinda of a pain but it works.
Kinda funny showing up to a downhill race and taking the bike out of a 4th gen TA and putting it togther at the race. You get some odd looks.

There are bike carriers available that mount in your license plate well. http://www.bdiracks.com/bdiplate.html
