new paint and a cat?
I just painted my car red over the week end . but before it had time to dry good a dang cat walked on it and left feet prints.
so my question is how long should I wait to buff out the paw prints?
the paint is very thick on the car I was going to wait and wet sand the car with 800 grit after the first 30 days and buff to a mirror shine.
any suggestions are welcome.

I dont know if you can tell by looking at these pics but in some places I could see some orange peal ,
thats anouther question why did I get orange peal in some places and the paint went on fine in other places?
I sprayed the entire car with a primer sealer before painting to ensure that I would get a uniform look.

Don't wait 30 days, you'll want to sand and buff within the first week of painting.
The paint will become too hard, and you will spend extra time just trying to buff out your sand scratches.
And do NOT use 800 grit!! BAD IDEA!!
start with 1200 grit and see how it's going, if need be, go down too 1000 grit, but you'll run the risk of having bad sand scratches that will be a bitch to remove.
And of cource, only sand as much as needed.
Good Luck,
Leon.

car looks great. what type of paint is it. im assuming base clear system. most clears are ready for sanding at 24 hours. its tacked eneought to sand easily. 1000 grit and or 1200 and then a wool pad on a bufer at 2500-3000 rpm will shine that right back up.
when i wet sand i so it dry with a d/a. 3m finishing film with an interface pad. you need a super short throw d/a fo this to work but its a real time saver if you can afford the equipment.
how deep are the foot prints you may need to reclear they area to get em all gone.

the paint is a low costs brand I found at a local paint shop. its just a single stage paint no clear coat.
I used my sisters garage to paint the car in , I finished putting the last coat of paint on and I let it dry for 1 hr. then I pulled the car out of the garage to see how it looked in the sun.
while the car was out of the garage , I decided to clean up my mess in there and by that time I would be able to starte putting the tail , side marker lights back in.
but when I walked to the front of the car , I saw cat prints I looked around and didnt see the cat anywhere. after looking over the car while putting the lights back on I saw prints on the passenger side mirror. and on the rear hatch also.
.
would it hurt to wet sand the entire car and spray 1 more coat of paint ?
also I didnt reinstall the rear arrow wing just yet, the old one looks like crap. so im looking for a replacement.
I was thinking of doing it this weekend.
