Wheel question on a Firebird
I have Firebird and I'm looking for new rims. Now I do like the snowflake gold rims on GTA's however is it unheard of to put those rims on a "plain" Firebird?
Give me an honest opinion. I don't want to run into a diehard
F-body fan and get the third degree!
My Cars as is.

some of the f-body "purists" I've met barely know what a GTA is. Besides that, the wheels were available on plain TransAms in 91-92 and so aren't really exclusive to the GTA anyway.

Always thankful to have valued opinions.
Now just to find a set.
But it will have to wait till after the hurricane. I live in the lower keys......

Gold crosslace on my GTA. I've always thought the gold rims on the white third gens looked hot. I say go for it! But like 90firebird said, remember to get the correct offset. It will be marked "front only" or "rear only" on the inside of the rim. The fronts have the deeper lip than the rears do.

IIRC some base Firebirds came with very similar looking 15" crosslace wheels, so no, it's not sacrilege...
Heck I'm running Camaro wheels on my Firebird, I think I'm the one who should be shot

I've got a 90 firebird w/ a 88 trans am body kit, and a powerbulge hood. I'm painting the "Plain Jane" stock rims black to match my car. Do whatever looks good to you. In the end it's your car.

Well, seeing as you already have T/A gfx, I wouldnt be too worried about what a "purist" has to say, as your probably gonna get crap from them anyway
If you like, go for it, who cares what anyone esle thinks. Its your car, right, so you might as well be happy with it.

Granted now, the car sports a '92 rear formula hatch with the wraparound rear spoiler, 15th Anniversary Trans Am Recaro seats, and a '87 Formula powerbulge hood.
Here's a shot before the above was installed.

No one has ever said anything bad, in fact, everyone likes it.
Granted, if you do a car show, it is no longer stock, but everything can be changed back, just keep the other parts.

Im debating on weither to get slp zr1 hyper black wheels or the 16x8 crosslace gta wheels. Which do u think will look better on my dark green metallic firebird, check out my car domain page to see what they'd look like.
