added another to the garage

just picked up an '89 Iroc-Z coupe today. it's the dark orangish/red metallic color with the polished/gold wheels. needs a bit of work, mostly interior and a new fender and paint. bought it for $1,300. 90,xxx miles on it. has new shocks, struts, fuel pump, lots of new mechanical parts...i'll get pictures up as soon as i can

Sounds like a good buy. I'm tempted to do this too, but I cant afford it right now. In the local papers over here is a 91 GTA LB9/T5 w/ 60K miles for $2500. Pretty good for 60k miles!

Most of our cars here in MI are rusted to **** anyways

My '88 GTA was $4k @ 69,000miles and just about mint condition with a fresh paint job.

Gotta love the hardtops

Only thing I don't like is it looks like it has the 15" iroc wheels.

here's a few more i snapped today...

and yes i do believe those are the horrid 15" wheels...those will be one of the last things on the "to do" list, as the paint and interior need the attention more...but most definatly it will have a nice set of wheels when we're done...

and here's one more...it is taking my snoozing place until i get back from school for christmas break

why not pop on ur old 91 z28 rims for it.

Oh and u sure u wanna worry about appearance of it? hows it run? Based on the condition of the exterior/interior that shows how easily it could have been poorly maintained...may want to check the important stuff out first.

yea those are the AutoZone special edition type "R" racing floor mats dont know why they put those in there...

and i'm sure we will keep the wheels if we buy new ones. we will need them for winter sets, just like what i'm doing with mine, which is why the '91 wheels aren't on the Iroc, cuz i'm wearing them so the chrome doesn't get messed up...

and actually, believe it or not, i drove the thing and it runs perfect. the only thing it needs is a condensor for the radiator, and a new flywheel. other than that, it runs like a brand new car

My backyard has more than enough room to house something like that, but I don't have a garage or a carport to put my car inside or under and I hate looking at it with all the snow on it. When I go outside to brush the snow off my other cars, I take it off mine too

the tents aren't the coolest things ever...they collect wasp/hornet nests, along with birds nests...and when it snows heavey, it collapses on your car. this happened last winter. had to dig it out like it was some kind of avalanche

I'm really considering buying an IROC too. I dunno what year it is, but it doesn't run, it's rusty, and the interior is practically gone.

But... it's a 350 with T-tops. =)

watch out for holes in the floor boards, and rusted out A-pillars...if you get a rusted thru A-pillar you're getting into a money pit...
