86 High mount brake light

I just got my new fourth gen wing and I sure dont want to have two brake lights. Has anyone ever removed that thing? I have had it open to change a few bulbs buts thats it.

I think you'll have to swap hatches. I'm pretty sure there are holes running through the glass. The good news is the decklid can be swapped so you don't have to repaint it.
