skinny - fatty look...Which Wheel

crager TTII knockoffs
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...egory_rn=36662

pro stars of course
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...egory_rn=36673

AR TTII's
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...egory_rn=36656

i guess those are the 3 that stuck out for me when i looked through jegs. Its gonna be 15x10 in the rear with a big fat 295 tire, then 15x7 or 15x8 in the front. What size should I do in the front? also what size tire for the front?

what wheels do you guys like, feel free to post a wheel i didn't show. I just started looking into this skinny fatty look, so any info is helpful

thanks guys

skinny fatty look is 15x4 up front and 15x8 or 15x10 for the rears. you're looking for more a staggered look. the car in my sig has 15x4 up front pro stars with 165 metric tires and 28x10.50 slicks in the rear on 15x8 pro stars as well.

For the Skinny/Fatty look, I like how the Prostars look. 15x8 or bigger in the rear, and 15x5 up front.

if i go as skinny as 15x4 in the front, its still streetable right? or should i go 15x5 or 15x6 or something?

also i see some people have 295's on a 8" rim. Is it worth it to go with a 15x10 or should 15x8 be sufficient?

that is what i was thinking about TTII style also. I wasn't sure they would look good with the skinny fatty look..

is there any other rims out there that is popular for this look, or should I just go with the pro stars?

I have 15x3.5" fronts with 165R15 Futura radials and 15x8's in the rear with 27x10.5" tires. I drive my car everywhere and it drives just like a normal car to me... of course I don't take corners like a nutcase or anything.

I dont like 15x10's in the rear because they usually make the tire stick out past the fender ...looks tacky to me.

I am running 28X13.5 ET streets and they are about even with the fender lip. I am sure a litte smaller tire on a 10 inch rim with a 5.5 inch BS would look just fine.

I disagree on your tacky comment.

yea i don't want it to stick out past the fender, so go with the 15x8 your telling me right? and should work fine with a 295 tire i'm assuming..

now the question is, how do i get the tire size right, to make it fill the fender well very good.

My car is lowered, is that going to give me problems? How tall of tire should I run in the back? i have around 400 horse, built 700r4 with stock gear ratio, than 3.73's in the rear, if that helps you..

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...egory_rn=36690

these are the ones i was looking at. Looks like you guys are running a 10.5" tire in the back, and that is 325 metric, will that pose a clearance problem at all if i go that route?

like i said, i'm new to this look, and it sounds like we got some knowledgable guys that already posted on this thread...thanks guys

I sold my skinny's because when I braked semi-hard to hard the front wheels locked right up...

New wheels...
18" IROCs (chrome sandblasted off and refinished like a stock wheel... metal+gunmetal paint)

a word of caution to anyone thinking about driving a car on the street with big and littles. it is VERY DANGEROUS. the wheels are smaller and break apart easier. they do not handle as well and do not handle sudden stops either.

to that end i wouldnt use big and littles on anything less than a full out drag car.

one last thing to consider. most running the 15x4 wheel up front run a VW spare tire. remember that tire is speed rated SAFELY to 85mph or less. anytime you go above that you are taking a very big risk.

just somethings to think about.

its true tho

but if i want to make it streetable, i don't have to neccessarily go to the extreme and run VW spare tires up front. I can run a bit wider can't I and still pull that look off...

tunedport335 has the skinny fatty look going on with pro stars here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/262003 and he's running 205's up front there.. i mean it still gives you that stagered look, but retains very good drivability..

so i guess the questions that need to be answered is the debate between 15x10's or 15x8's...then exactly what size tires and backspaces i need...

i posted about this a while back about 315s on smaller wheels.

03 cobra guys have stock 17x9 wheels. some run 315/35 nitto drag radials on stock wheels. they have a SMALLER contact patch than if they ran a 285 nitto dr on the same wheel. what happens is the extra width from the 315 wraps around the side and buldges out. i would reccomend a 10 inch wide rear if you absolutely must have the big and little look. then run a 285 or 295 (295 prefered). that would work pretty well.

I noticed that too. Take one of the most famous wheel designs ever and call them knock offs of a cheapo-brand knock-off themself. Thats comedy!

okay, so go with the 15x10. we got that question answered ...now for the tire size. the 10.5" wide tire that some of you are running eqautes to 325 right? and that fits in the fender well, or should I go down to a 295?

unless you're running slicks i'd just put a 275/50R15 tire on a 15x8 rim with 4.5BS and call it a day. i have a bunch of pre-paint pics on the link in my sig with what that looks like. A 10.5" DOT slick is measured across the section width not the tread width so those are two different things. The difference between a 275 tire and 315 or 295 street tire is nil if anything. Unless you're talking drag radials or slicks I don't see any street tires hooking up compared to their drag orientated counterparts.
