What I like about threads like this is the fact that it allows the new people to show off their cars without reviving old threads, which they get shot down for doing. Now I mean no disrespect towards anybody, because I know there are rules, and without rules this forum would be like most others, but I think every once in a while these threads are a good idea.

Great cars you guys! I have a '91 Formula LB9 5 spd project car I am getting to do some things to now. It is the car in my avatar, kinda rough but no major damage. I used to have an '89 Formula 350 I bought new from the dealer, it was white with a black interior, had the Edelbrock TES and Borla, that was it! I have always missed it. It is good to have a Formula back again in my flock! I have two race cars, one 3rg gen TA and one 4th gen TA CMC car, and two street cars, this new Formula and a black '97 TA I bought new from the dealer. Trans-Ams are cool but Formulas are cooler!

Thank you very much for the nice comments. Bull I can feel you on freezing trying to wash your cars in winter. I Have to do the same thing. a mack she has 118k on her. Runs great. I plan on pulling it in favor of an lt1. Then the TPI will find a new home in my cutlass in place of it's 305.

871LE, the '91 Formula is a T-top. I would prefer hard top, but cannot be that picky due to the scarcity of these cars as you guys well know! Still, I love the color (Med. Maui blue metallic) and am very excited about getting this car painted...after all the mechanicals are done.
Sounds like Derek and I have the same thoughts on these awesome cars!

Thanks Luvofjah, I do feel pretty lucky! So far we have the car running well after replacing a bunch of stuff including all the injectors ($, ouch). The next major item is installation of some SLP 1-5/8 headers and custom y-pipe for the dual cats. The car came with a Flowmaster cat back which is pretty decent. I'm keeping it to all street legal mods under the hood, I want the outside and inside of the car to be completely stock. Fun!!!

I feel sorry for ya
Eventually I plan on building a street/strip Firebird that will look 'run-of-the-mill' on the outside

Don't feel too sorry for me, I am a road racer and visit the track on a regular basis! The Formula will be a fun and dependable street driver and will get to autox every once in a while for some cheap thrills!

That's cool
I'm not goin' for AutoX myself, just drag racing. If I were to build an AutoX, I'd def go for 2.8L turbo, and try to push the engine back a lil bit more for better weight distribution. What set-up did you use for your AutoX'r?

This car will have stock springs if they are still good, and Koni sport shocks. Other than some sticky rubber on 16x9 rims that will be it! The stock Formula swaybars are really good at 36mm/24mm, add some fresh polyurethane and I'll be good to go! That's a pretty cheap recipe for fun!

Right on Mike, it is a good recipe. The stock set-up on these cars made the WS6 name a good one! Basically the best choices are Bilsteins or Koni Sports, both can be rebuilt, the Bilsteins are more expensive and are not adjustable. The Koni sports are. I use Sam Strano at http://www.stranoparts.com as he is a champion autoxer in these cars and know them well. Contact him and he'll optimize your set-up to get the most out of it. Tell him I sent ya!

New guy here. Here's mine, freshly out of my garage-turned-paintshop. I've since color sanded it, but right now winter driving is keeping it rather dirty.
