got me some new wheels

i got me new wheels today. i waited about a month for them and it was well worth the wait. they look awsome. they are boyd cottington smoothie II. i got 17X8 for the front and 17X10 in the back. ill probably get some rubber around them by the weekend so ill get better pics later. im not sure what size tire to run in the back. i was think somewhere around a 275/40R17 or 285/40R17. let me know what you think.

Id think youd still be able to fit a 295 and have it look good?

Those are definently my most favorite rims there are...please post up some pics when they are on the car...cant wait to see them! Everything about your car is so perfect!

i spoke with my friend at lunch time and he ordered my tires today. they should have them by the weekend. so if the tires come in before the weekend we will go to his shop on sunday and mount and balance them. i went with a 245/45R17 in the front and a 285/40R17 in the rear. i cant wait to get them on the car.

if people are going to sacrifice getting a finish and style of their wheels because the guy whose name appears on the center caps is a jerk on tv, they probably havent put too much thought into their wheels.
Ill admit that boyd is an ***, and charges alot for his wheels, but he makes alot of designs that are far from typical....which I think many will agree is why they chose to go with them

then again....to each their own

Boyds wheels are generic, very old school styling that been around for many years. There are many other reputable companies that make these identical wheels, for example Intro wheels - do you see some simalarities in the designs. Of coarse there not completely identical im sure theres a copyright infringment law.
Im a shopper that basis buying products on many things, including warrenties, return policy, availablity, pricing, customer service, and of coarse how reputable is the company.
Don't be a compulsive shopper, its not like Boyd invented the wheel, theres no reason to throw your money at there over pricing.
Besides who really wants there center cap to have Boyds name in a red and white oval on there chrome/polished wheels
Boyd still makes a nice wheel, just wouldnt put it on my car.

just my .02 cents. cheers

i got the tires put on and they look awsome. its been to dark for me to get a pic of it when i get home from work. so this weekend ill snap some shots.

i really dont care about boyd beeing an *** or not. if he make a nice wheel he deserves to money. the wheels really werent that much. they were $1330.00 shipped. thats not to bad. i would have bought the wheels from any other company if they had that exact wheel. my center caps dont have the usual boyd cottington sticker on them. mine have the boyd cottington name engravend in them.

here are some teaser pics i just took for you guys. if its nice this weekend ill get some better ones. all of them are pics of the back except for the last one.

That's a 5.75 backspace?

Be sure to get some shot's from a little farther away from the rear. They look great!

my grandfather has those on his 1966 buick riviera GS they look so awesome. i always thought they would look sweet on my car b/c of the sharp lines the wheel has but i didnt want to copy him with the wheels b/c he paid alot for em and he's super proud of them.
