hey guys can we calm down before this thread gets locked?

I really want to see where this goes and how everything works out and if it gets locked that will be much harder

 

not to add into the fighting, coz believe me its not what im after and im not trying to break your *****...but you were complaining about stock offset wheels not looking good because they dont fill up the fenders, but you dont need to go buy spacers and incorrect offset wheels to fix it. just buy a wider wheel.

Heres my old GTA with an 8.5" wide ROH with a 275 on it and I dont think its bad at all. get a 9.5" and it will be even better.

 

will the spacers from hawks work...it doesnt say if its a 1 inch spacer or how big it is....im just tryin to figure out so i can order this stuff

 

are you ordering the black ones like were posted on the first page of this thread? if so can you link me where you are getting them from? i searched sgmotoring (the ebay id the thread starter said to use) and he didnt have any black ones that would fit.

 

Black84Z28 and I will bolt one of the wheels up, front and rear, on Wednesday and check fit on the spacing.

I saw the wheels in person the other day. They are extremely nice and are a steal for the price he paid.

 

they are not black ones in the first pic....if im not mistaken they are gunmetal....i cannot find the black 962 rims for the life of me

and to clarify they were not made to fit camaros.. they do however since 1" on a camaro puts them out to the lip just about perfect.. a 65mm offset wheel is whats used on most 4th gens, which tucks.. these dont.. ive put 1" spacers all around on a stock 4th gen and it looks good, they look so stupid stock

i have a 65mm wheel with a 2.25" spacer and its even with the well like you said you want yours.. i couldnt bolt a wheel with less offset and expect it to be in the same spot thats why i said something

we are not tryin to start **** man or say whos right and wrong, i want to see you get the perfect stance and i could be out to lunch here.. i've been thru a ton of spacers tryin to get my spacing right.. bolting them on will tell the story as all i know is what ive been thru, and am axious to see them on your car

cant wait to see pics also. these are the first affordable wheels ive seen in a long time that i would actually buy for my car...now for tires, lol. and whoever posted with the red camaro that already had these wheels on his car, please say what size spacers you used, cause they look great right where they are.

Yeah I don't think he was saying that he has the rims, just that they look good on his car. The glare in the shade gives them away.

 

this is how it sits with a 2 inch spacer, i might go ahead and get a smaller rear spacer but i am not sold on it just yet because i have a 4th gen rear coming for free...gotta decide i guess....note that the suspension is unloaded and the wheel is loosely mounted with one lugnut because this rim takes a special lugnut and the ones i had wont fit right and i am not going to scratch it up just to show pictures

do you think you are ever going to get them mounted with tires while the stock rear is still in there? i wanna see what it looks like with a 2 inch spacer.

No its chipped up from using spacers ur just not admiting to the fact that spacers suck and you dont know what ur doing.

 

ehhe....i was changing out the stupid tard blue coil the car had in it for a msd blaster and i guess i didn't know the zipper on my jacket rubbed the paint...nothing major that meguiars machine glaze can't cure...it needs wax anyway:P



the car will be on tires and those spacers by the end of the month possibly if i can afford the tires...should be soon, i got overtime coming up, i know one thing and that is the car will need atleast a 1 inch drop

 

if you get 35 series tires youll have a decent drop. id go with 45s though.

 

35s will be almost exactly the same height as the current wheel diameter i have on the car now

i was sold on the bfg g force sports....i am doing 245/40/18 in the front and 275/35/18 in the rear

almost forgot...you need what are called "tuner" lugnuts...lol...you can find then in the ***** section of the summit and i think jegs books...they aren't horrible looking and cost about $25 for a set with locks i believe

 

are these available in 17s also?

 

yes sir.....i went with the 18s because down the road this car might get c6 zo6 calipers

 

I like how the wheel design goes with your car, very nice. I don't like how far they stick out though but hopefully the 4th gen rear corrects that.

i think once the car is back level where both tires on touching the ground i think it would go in a little bit more...

 

with a fourth gen rear its 2 inches longer on each side, and if your using 2 inch spacers, wont that just cancel it out and leave it where it sits currently. now you wont need spacers, but the 2 inches from teh rear will make up for it.

or am i just being a noob again?

 

If you need pictures I have had a set mounted on my camaro since October. I can snap a couple of pics tonight. I am running 17x9.5 with 1 inch spacers.

 

please post pics, that would be greatly appreciated. did you have to do any fender work (rear) to get them to fit with the one inch spacers? are they 9.5 all around or only in the back. also what size sidewall did you use if fender work was not necessary? thanks a lot.

I have not installed my billet center caps. I made my own to replace the ones that came with the wheels. My new ones are 1" tall to completely cover the bearing cap

 

Can't wait to see them mounted w/ tires! Looks real nice so far..

4th gen rear is 2 " narrower, not wider.

 

WrongO, I've seen plenty of cars with 4th gen rearends & rims. Spacers in front, none in back. With my math, that makes em wider.

 

yea fourth gen rear is wider. look at how we need spacers to make our rears wider so the wheels will fir

Looks like it's time to eat crow! Once you get tires on there, they'll stick out about an inch past the lip - JUST LIKE Z28***** SAID! And I don't believe that level is sitting flush against the WHOLE rim either. Looks like a 1" spacer should do the job though. Nice car & wheel choice!

look closer at the background...its crooked too...i had my camera set up on the wrong side onf the dock for the tripod...can you see the level indicator on the level?...its straight down

 

I am running the same size wheels and tires on all 4 corners with 1" spacers. The fronts also have .350" thick rotor hats over the stock rotors that have been turned down into hubs. My car is lowered and I don't remember how much I am running custom guldstrand springs.

 

Maybe so, but you'll still need a 1" spacer like he said.

 

oh, im not too worried about how much you lowered it. because i like these, and i dont want them to rub, but im at stock hiehgt. so if you can get away with them not rubbing with the car lowered, it just makes it that much safer for me.

 

are you running a corvette offset?


adrian skulte doesn't run a 1 inch spacer on his car

 

i think they will look just wonderful on your car. you definitely have one of the deepest shines on your paint job around. as long as the tires come flush or a little inside the fender well you should be fine. just don't go baja-ing. good luck, and gets some tires already!!

 

if they aren't flush with the fender lip it will be fixed asap/...that is what i am after so if this doesn't work i am scrapping the 4th gen rear idea that i was going to swap over because that rear would be the same width as with these spacers on my rear...


i have alot of hours and money tied up in car care stuff over last summer...lol...i can't wait until it gets warm enough to go over the entire car again
