Sanding GTA wheels, a few Q.s

I had done a lot of searching, before the TGO board went belly up and found out how to buff/polish GTA wheels. I put them on the car to sand them, I used wet 320 then wet 400. then used a medium buff wheel and some tripoli to buff.

One wheel looked freakin awesome, I could see myself in it. but the other three look nothing like it. no matter how much I polish. The first wheel, the one that looked good shinned up immediately.

Obviously I am going to have to go back and find out what I did different on the one that looks good.

When wet sanding, should the wheel be spinning slow say like at an idle speed, or should I speed the motor up and its really movin? Will going to fast glaze it over?

Thanks for any tips. I can't wait to get these things done.

What he said.

Sounds like u had one that the clear was either previosly stripped off of or it was worn from age.

The clear will tend to fog up or not shine when it is present.

later

I will definately look into that later this week. When I am sanding on them I am getting aluminum off them not what I would think would be clearcoat. I will let you know.
