clay bar

i have a black gta and the paint has a haze on the hood i was wondering if the clay bar will help at all until I get it repainted, I've tried wax and it does nothing

If the haze you are referring to is Oxidation, then no, it wont. You will need a polishing compound to take care of that.

You can get rubbing compound at local auto stores, but you may want to look into automotive finishing stores around your area. They really know about body work and will be able to tell you exactly what you need. Also, using a buffer would make it really shine. Just make sure you be careful with it and don't burn the paint or hit edges.. It could throw the buffer out of your hand and scratch or dent your thirdgen.
I'd say to the Auto body supply co. that you were interested in buying it (even if you aren't) and see if they let you borrow it. If not, they will probably lend one to you for a small fee..

a random orbital buffer should prevent any chances of you scratching your paint


best bet is probably letting a detail shop do it though
