dude, you can paint those frickin' shartruse if you want! lol! do whatever, they are your wheels!
but if your asking if they cam from the factory like that, yes, they did. the spokes and in between the spokes were white, the star where the lugnuts go were black and the lips were polished. let me look through my cardomain pics and see if i can find some pics of my first car that shows the wheels well.

i use duplicolor wheel paint. it's about $5 a can though O'reily auto parts, though i'm sure you can find it at an advance auto or pep boys or autozone.

personnaly id go and have them powder coated. itll hold up the best, its deffinetly more expensive, but the thing about powder coating is you cant really mess it up at all, and itll last forever.

i might be mistaken but don't they have to run electrical currnt threw the rims to attract particles that just mists over it? these rims don't look like they will have a good currnet goint threw them.

yeah, you can powdercoat these just like anthing else, though it's gonna cost much more to powdercoat then just spray paint. the duplicolor works REALLY well. i used it on my front wheels for the drag strip (cause i don't have the $$ to get matching front wheels) and it looks amazing! i then went back over the whole wheel with a clear coat, again, using duplicolor.
here ya go, though i don't know how well you can see the quality of the paint job:

i couldn't tell ya if they are the exact same wheels, i've had about 5 sets of those wheels at one point, and they've all been painted at one point. lol! here is another picture, hopefully you can see how i wetsanded and polished the lips to a mirror finish.

its true, powdercoating is alot more expensiv, but im more of a quality kinda guy. i guess it depends what this is going on. street car, show car, daily driver, drag car etc..

I want to color match a set and yours look great!!
Can you give a brief run down on how you prepped the wheels and how long the finish holds up?
I had talked to a couple of guys about powder coating, and they were afraid of doing used wheels in a light/white color. They said it is very hard to get used aluminum wheels really clean and that imbedded brake dust might show through after the curing process.

aircraft stripper to strip all the old clearcoat and paint off. once stripped, start with 220grit wetsand paper on the lips, getting all the grooves and pits out of the aluminum. move up to 400, then 600, then 1000, then rubbing compound and polishing compound. then you'll want to make sure everything is VERY clean. once the wheel has dried, tape off the freshly polished lips (be patient, but they they WILL look like mirros) and paint the center black. then, after two coats of black,(and they've dried) tape off the center as to not get your fresh black center oversprayed with whatever color the wheel is going to be (disregard if your painting the whole wheel black like i did). put 3 coats of base down and 2 coats of clear...allowing for them to really dry between each coat, 15-20 mins would be acceptable. once everything has dried, peel your tape off. it's much easier to do this with no tire on the wheel, but i did my fronts with the tires still mounted.

it'll go from classy to cheesy if you paint the whole wheel. i promise you it will look 100% like crap. take your time and prep the wheel like i said or it will look like some 16 y/o kid got impatient....these types of things take time.

so basically instead of the black i switch with white and do the mirror finish on the rims to give the look of the stock white rims.

yes, but make sure you paint the center portion of the wheels (where the lugs go) black, or else it won't look right.
