1992 RS cloned too 1992 Z28
Well I will be getting my car painted in a few weeks and I have had many thought on cloning my RS heritage edition into a Z28 heritage edition. I already have the z28 hood and z28 grill on my car. The car is red with blacks stripes also has the 16" z28 rims (red) which triggered the suspension to be upgraded with z28 parts. My engine is built and can stay with a z anyday. So I am asking you guys what you think of my idea. By no means am I going to lie and tell somebody its an original z28 heritage edition, but I will say it is a RS heriage edtion cloned into a z28 heritage edition. I would like pics if anybody has every attemped this before.
Thanks alot,
Cory Mohr

Well I think it would look cool with the Z28 hood, and spoiler, however I think it would be crossing the line to actually put "Z28" badges on it. If I was you, I would probably go with the hood, spoiler, full Z28 look, remove my RS badges and just leave the car unbadged. That way you are in now way claiming its a Z28. There is nothing wrong with putting a Z28 hood/spoiler on a RS, as long as you dont try and claim its a Z28, which it sounds like you werent planning on doing anyway.
If you do it, make sure you keep EVERYTHING you need to return it back to its stock form. I'm sure years from now when that Heritage Edition is worth big bucks you will be glad you did.

maybe when you paint it you can fill in the areas where the tags go on the skirts and the bumper. that might look trick, and it isnt saying that it is a Z.

This is my RS with a Z-28 hood and grill, but I liked the flow of the RS spoiler so I left it on there. People seem to like it.

That's exactly what i want to do with my own 92 RS.
But me, I want to put the Heritage Stripes on it.
The rims will look different. And I want stock marker lights but clear bumper ligths.
I don't want to put the Z28 aerowing, I prefer, like you, the RS one.

My '92 RS is going to sport stainless RS emblems with the Z28 hood and Z28 spoiler. I thought (for 1 sec) about getting the Z28 emblems but that thought vanished..........
Keep it real, there is no shame sporting a RS.

I like the look of the Z grille and hood on the RS, I already ordered a new grill for mine. Just need to decide wether I want a cowl hood or a stock Z28 hood.
BTW Nice ride Gunny.

Wow, Im so sick of the emblem war. Us 3rd Genners really are the most fawking **** about this than any other car owner group I swear.
The VIN says mine has a 305 TBI, but we all know thats not true. Who cares what the emblems are, its still a Camaro. Its not like he is calling it a Trans Am or a Mustang.
Of course, I still wouldnt put Z28 emblems on my RS.

not true, you should see 4th gen owners jump all over each other when a person says they are putting an SS spoiler and hood on a Z28 and want to put the SS badges on it too...all hell breaks loose

Oh and mustang guys are quite **** as well, especially those that are into the vintage iron. In the end, whatever makes you happy is what you should do with the emblems, but I would argue that when the time comes to sell, anyone who will want to open up their wallets to pay a premium for a thirdgen is going to care what emblems are on the car - If they are after a nice RS well, they will want those parts on the car, same with a Z28. Maybe at this time, it dosen't really matter, but in a few years I would bet it will..just my
