What makes you stick out?

This is for camaros only. What does your car have, that alot of people dont? For example, Ill be changing my black key inserts and door handles to silver...not alot of people have done that. Whatever you have post a picture.

I haven't seen anyone in my area with a black IROC-Z that has the blue stripe. The couple I have seen were all silver. So pretty much if you see the blue stripe, you know its me.

It's a clean, non rusted, non ragged out 3rd gen. What more do you need? The standards are pretty low for a 3rd gen to "stand out."

He's trying to say only mods that you don't normally see or that are more creative than Wheels or Paint...

And do you know how much painted key inserts stand out? . . . if you answered "about zero," then you would be correct.

LOL.
This is one of those, "I am not sure what am asking" threads. I think that he wants to know of MODS that have been done rarely, like rear seat speaker box, or vette taillights, or scoops, or different bumpers, ya catch the drift. So, I guess my pro am stands out because it has the pro/am hood, fiberglass ground effects and fourth gen leather power seats. Take that!

If a clean 3rd gen was about as common as 4th gens, then that might be true, but you know what most people notice on 3rd gens? . . . clean uncommon paint (hell, lets be realistic, clean paint period), wheels that aren't 15 or 16 inches, a clean interior maybe with a little bit of custom touches and motors that are putting the numbers down. . . not painted key inserts. The whole parameters set by him are ridiculous.

Gunny Highway, your just trying to make an argument because you have nothing that makes you stand out. If you look at post number 5 it says other clean looking thirdgens. Let me put this as simple as possible, if every camaro looked brand new, perfect, shiny, etc What would make it be different. My key inserts AND chrome door handles together would stand out, even if its a small thing.

I guess what makes mine stick out is a combination of things seen on other thirdgens....but put together to my own creation

Blacked out amber signals
boyd hotrods
candy apple red paint
shaved handles
interior swap

...name it and it's been done, but not all on one car like mine

No doubt chrome handles would make it stand out. Straight from the 60's!!
Ya know, they sell chrome replacement key inserts at most auto parts stores to match those handles! Silver paint will just look like CHEAP CHROME.
By the way, Gunny said he's never seen another Camaro painted the same color as his, that stands out in my book!

lack of gfx, and it still looks good...that seems to be a big deal around here.

also, i have fourth gen door handles painted body color...so they are smooth instead of having that stupid indent.

Not to get in on anything here, but at a stoplight,I promise my plain ol' RED car will be spotted long before Ethan's door handles and locks.

Might have something to do with the 468 under the 4" cowl hood and 3" exhaust with Super 40 Flowmasters and 31/2" turndowns.

To me,it ain't really about standing out in the sense that everyone likes your car.I did everthing myself, from building the engine, fabbing up custom floorpans, custom dash to implement real gauges,I even shot my own paint. It's not a show car,it's not one that you would have to stop and look at if it were parked amongst 100 3rd gens, but it's exactly how I want it,and that's what matters most.I think everyone should build their car the way THEY want it,not because something will make people look at it.I am in the process of painting 92 ground f/x,because I like the way the dummy air scoops look.Because I like it.If you like chrome door handles, kudos. That's what it's all about.
I guess I'll remain lame, because I like my car to be red, paint runs and all,as long as it looks how I want it to.

Soon,I just got it in last weekend.I'm still pretty giddy about it.If only my car looked as good as yours!
That really is a slick ride you have.I'd love to have the $$$ to make mine truly cherry someday.Until then,it's Bradley Scheibe all the way!

All of the above.........VERY NICE.I'd love for my car to be that clean again someday. The last time it looked that good was along about 92 when I first bought it.All the waxing had the original Burgandy paint in pretty sorry shape by 93,when I graduated. It got a brand new Maaco back then, and that was the first of 4 less than perfect paint jobs my car has recieved.Good news, the original sheetmetal always turns back up.
