I am personally partcial to the 92. It has all the newer technology, and has S/D ECM. You cant go wrong as long as its an F-BODY.....lol. and congrats, If you ever owned on it never gets out of your system, heck I have a 94 vette and I love my 91 just as much.

These SBC motors can go a really long time with proper care. My friend's mom has an IROC with 350,000 miles on it. Still runs well too. I'd say go for it.

what do you mean by "89 coupe"...all camaros are coupes. if it is a TPI car go with the 89, 66k miles is too good to pass up. t-tops are gay, you will think they are sweet for like 2 weeks then wonder why you wanted them in the first place....more frame twist, possible leaks, you have to put them back on if you dont park in a safe place. its a hassle if you just want to head to the store for something. t-tops are not with 99k miles. some f-bodys are reliable, some arent. it just depends on how you roll the dice.

IDK man, i really like my t-tops. They do have their downsides, but nothing beats a highway cruise on a sunny day with the t's off

Axle/Gears: posi, and posi w/discs :D.
are they both TPI cars? if so get the 89.

yeah t-tops are a love hate relationship. i love to take em off and just cruise, but i hate putting em back on when i get to the store, and the frame twists easily, its just one of those things. id rather have a hardtop personally

the 92 is a 25th anniversary car, it will be worth more in the end reguardless of what options it has. definatly go for the tpi car.

I would go with the 92 because of the fact that you could get your money back and then some down the road if you keep it nice.

If they are both TPI cars then go with the one thats in better condition. An 89 with only 66k on it would probably be in real nice shape. Have a mechanic check out both cars and give you an opinion. Check everywhere for rust. If both cars are in real nice shape and there are no major differences, Id say go with the 92. If one is TPI and the other isnt, go with the TPI car. You didn't say if either of them are Z28's. If one is and the other isnt, go with the Z. Pics would help a lot.

are they both "RS" cars with TBI? having owned several 80's cars, I'd go with the '92.. airbag, speed density, etc.

Everybody has their preferences. I prefer t-tops, and I also prefer the 85-90 ground effects over the 91-92 style.

Since you never indicated that these were Z28s, that tells me that you're looking at TBI cars, which means both have the exact same motor. It's hard to pass up one that's got 33k less miles than another, but if their condition is equal and you would rather have the t-tops, then go for it.
