I love my bird, but its DIRTY! I'm going to get it professionally detailed sometime soon. My problem is that the parking garage I store it in is filthy! I didn't think it was that bad until I knelt down on the floor, and my hands were covered in grey (concrete?) dust. I drove my bird in from the rain yesterday, and now my paint is covered in the same grey dust. I wish I had somewhere else to store it, but its either the garage or outside!
My question is, after I get the car detailed, is there something I can spray on her to stop the dust from sticking?
Thanks!
Bill

I work at a detail shop thats been around for 19 years and me and my boss have this problem all the time. We have a gravel parking lot and when we clean a car and take it outside it gets really dusty. Nothing really i think you can do about it. When we detail a car it gets 5 coats of wax. ( 2 buffed with wool pad, 2 buffed with sponge pad, and then hand waxed ) and the stuff still sticks, good think is tho, with all that wax, you can just spray you car off with water ( no soap since it will take off wax ) and the dust and stuff 'should' just wash off, exspecially if you can preassure wash it. But other than that, a duster or micro-fiber towl to wipe it down before ya take it out would be your best bet IMO, Good luck!

Is there any reason why you wouldn't get a cover for it while it's in the garage?

Well it sounds like the garage is a public one, so he would have to worry about someone stealing the cover... And as soon as he drives out it will get dusty anyway.
Just make sure the car has a good coat of wax on it and have a California Car Duster handy. That's pretty much all you can do.
