Hard water on wheels

Unfortunately I have come to notice that I have some "hard water" on my wheels. I live in New Hampshire and I have a well and our water contains alot of minerals, and for those of you who don't know what hard water is, it looks like there is a drip mark on your wheel that you can just wipe off, but it doesn't come off. These are Ultra wheels I have and are polished. I was going to try CLR but didn't know if that would ruin the wheel. Does anyone know anything about this or know what I should do?

I don't suppose you've tried polishing them with metal polish? If that didn't work, get some Meguiar's paint cleaner and try to polish it off with that.

Pour a couple ounces of white vinegar into a a couple gallons of water and wash them with that. If that doesn't work try using a clay bar on them with a lot of lube - either soapy water or a quick detail spray.

Use a degreaser, but make sure none gets on the car or it will kill the paint.

I use a purple degreaser from sams (maybe walmart has it)... you can also get degreasers from any auto parts store made for cars -- anyways, i use full strength and just spray the whole wheel... let me see if i can find a thread about it that i wrote on camarosource.ca ..

Camarosource.ca - Camaro Message Board :: View topic - Cleaning Rims

that's it and pics of the wheels before and after are in there too (a link that is)
