Third-Genners in North Bay/South Bay...California

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to see how many of us are from
around the San Francisco Bay area, and
maybe from the Central Coast Section...
Sacramento...etc..

We should meet up some time for a cruise or
something.

Tell me what you think.

I live in Aliso Viejo, Between LA and San Diego. Kind of far from everyone. Plus, I don't think my car would make it that far.

But one day, when it can, im totally game for driving up there, i think it would be alot of fun! im sure it would turn heads when 5+ thirdgens all driving in a row.

Yeah that would be tight. Cruise around, burn some rice, hit the bar & grill places & then race each other or just other cars.

Hey all,
I'm from Campbell, right next to San Jose. A cruise sounds cool. Maybe someone can set one up and get a email list going. I would but, I just don't have the time.

Later.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the replies. I'm thinking
of a Weekend in Late February or March.
It would have to be a nice day though..rain
would cancell the event. For the guys in
the Bay area, maybe we can get together sooner?

Oh, I also don't know about racing the
ricers. We shouldn't start any **** with
them, unless they want to race us? This should just be a fun cruise...maybe I'll
take you guys to my favorite canyon road,
and we can test our suspensions?

In any case, I think we get down on the ricers too much. I'll be the first to admit
it...I have been beaten by a *****! Even
though I don't like it...it happened.

Those little cars move once you stick in a
turbo or super charger. My best friend has
a 1997 RX-7. This thing will eat me for
lunch. I guess what I'm trying to say is
that even though we have more cylinders than
they do, doesn't mean that we can beat them.

Thanks Guys.

Tommy

Yep. before i understood cars, i thought V8s were fast! i figured more cylinders ment more speed. granted, i have an older 305TPI, but even then. if i can displace 5 liters, i don't get how a small engine which displaces 1.8 liters (or whatever small amount) can beat me in a race.

wish my car was running good enough to run with you all up there. haha, even if i did make it up there i would flip my car at that canyon you mentioned i bet.

But evantually i could make it up there. I think it would be awesome to meet some peiopel from this board, and hang out with other thirdgenners.

If only we could trick vader to come out. he is like the posting jesus here...

I would definetely get a couple of days off so that we could hang & kick it & just enjoy the day. It has to be a day that is good enough for the T-tops to come off, hehe.

No problem Daniel I love showing off my system. I should hopefully have my new CD player by then b/c my current one skips like hell due to the damn bass level hits. Hope this works out, my gf is also excited about this too b/c she loves cars as well.
Let's all arrange a tenative date & leave it very tenative b/c it will be tough to find a day when it isn't raining around that time of the year. But we shall see & also try to get a list together of who will be there.

Hey all,
If you want to BBQ at a park in the area near IN and OUT... There is Baylands Park about fives minutes from there. You do need a reservation to BBQ. I will try and find contact info for the park.

And about the next NOR-CAL event that Mateo was talking about... Bakersfield, not what I would call NOR-CAL... Nevertheless, sounds fun. The only strips around the bay area are Sears point and Sacramento.

Later

John Harvie.

John,
That sounds great...I have never been to that
park. I was thinking Vasona Park? We could
hit the HWY 9 cruise...you know test out our
suspensions and then hit Vasona. You and I
live pretty close to each other. I am in
South San Jose.

I'm game for where ever you guys want to go so long it is not a crazy distance away. Like driving more than 150 miles one way is a bit for me but I doubt that it will be that far at all. Let's all decide on what to do. Did you guys want to push the date back a little further b/c I seriously doubt that it will not be raining around around then.

Yeah hopefully it would be post-poned to around late spring to summer time so that you all could see what my car would look like w/ the KITT nose & scanner bar, the GTA spoiler, The Kobel GFX kit, and other crap w/ a full new paint job. We will all keep iin touch about this. I will talk to all later in an e-mail.
Since I'm used to arranging things like get togethers I will start an e-mailing list for us & hell let's start are own club if no one is in one & make our own web site & everything. I'm down for making another site & stuff. How does all this stuff sound for us????? TTYL

Hey I think that sounds really good..I'm fairly new to the site but I've been a camaro driver and fan for a long time...I think we should make a club or a Site or at least make a yearly cruise so that we can meet up once a year and see our new mods and up grades and go for a good cruise...

I alredy said I was in on the meet but I think that this sounds really good too..I'm down

Hey all,
Vasona lake/park would probably be a better choice. Sounds good.
About the club, that sounds good also. Would the club be for just 3rd gen F-bodies? I think there is a BAY AREA F-body club, but I never hear of anything "going ons" with them.
As for the website, I would love to help with that. I don't know about designing pages and such, but as far as finding a host and domain name, I can do that. I do own a bunch domain names, one of which is www.speedjunkies.com, and am familiar with how all that works. If you guys like that domain name, I would let the club use it.
I'm will to help in anyway possible.

Take care.
John

Hey Guys,
This sounds awesome! Yes, let's start a
email list. Mike, if you can get an informal
list going and send out like a welcome letter
or something?

I'm thinking a name like "West Coast Camaro's
Limited" for our group? The web site sounds
good too! I can also help with any thing.

Mike, and John, it sounds like us three
are volunteering to make this thing happen.

Let's get in touch, and plan for something
in the March/April/May time frame.

Thanks

Tommy

Hey Tommy no problem, I will get together an e-mail list going for us. I will do it tomorrow when I get off of work b/c I am dead tired & have to go to work early tomorrow morning.
Hey Tommy if ya want to did you want to get together sometime soon so we can meet in person & work on projects for the website & take pictures of our cars or what not. Anyone else down to do this & meeet up w/ me & others somewhere? Then we could all plan out where to have the BBQ what to cook when we will have the cruise & hang out & what we shall desgin for the website. Does this sound good guys? Let me know either on this thread on by my e-mail. Either one is cool.

Right on it looks like we are going to have a pretty good sized club going on here. This is pretty cool, you all will be hearing from me later on today. Gotta go to work now.

I can not be part of this club, since I live in Colorado. But I would like to help with the page a little. I would be fun and I need some more experience.

Sounds good Neo, thanx.
Also, does anyone have experience w/ using Flash on a web site? B/c I sure don't. I think that it would look cool if someone could design the entrance page as a Flash movie w/ quick 1-2 second shots of each member of the club & play some tight *** music in the background. That would be so cool.

Also, how would you guys like having custom windshield banners made of our club name? Or little stickers for you guys that don't like large gaudy banners.

Also I meant to say in my earlier post about having a flash movie w/ quick still shots of our cars not us.
Yeah I really like all the ideas that I'm coming up w/ for this club. Also we can have certain tech sections, time slip sections, links to all of our sites, a message board, you name it, it will have it.
Also I am going to open this to all of the west coast which means OR, WA & CA but this is the catch though, we will keep our name but the club will have different chapters so other people in different states on the west coast can do what we are doing.
I was thinking of Tommy's idea for the name which he suggested: West Coast Camaro's
Limited. Well obviously we would have to take out the Camaro & replace it w/ something else. Here are my names that I think would be cool:
1) West Coast 3rd Gen. Limited
2) West Coast F-body (or F-bodies) Limited
3) or West Coast F-bodies
Whatcha guys think???????????????

Thats sounds like a cool idea, you know, we will need to represent. Maybe some of those metal plates like the lowrider clubs.

I have a little, very little experience, with Flash 5. After all it is a $400 program and I have better things to spend that money on. I could do mostly HTML coding and maybe some graphics, I do have photoshop do screw around with.
