Spray on tint removal

Not sure if this is for this section. I apologize if it's not. I just picked up an 1988 IROC Z L98 from a used car lot. Previous owner applied window tint spray, or something like it, to the rear lenses as well as the front turn signal lenses. I'm attempting to remove this coating and restore the lenses. I searched several locations on the web. One site, a plastic modelers web site, had several different ways of removing paint from plastic. The least caustic way was to soak the lenses overnight in Simple Green. Tried it, but it had no effect on the spray-on tint. They also suggest soaking the piece in brake fluid. I think it might work but also might cloud the plastic. Any suggestions for getting this mess off and restoring the lenses to their original condition? Also I would like to thank EVERYONE who participates on this site. You all contribute tremendously in your knowledge and expertise. I can't thank you all enough for the help I have recieved.

Wetsand with 1500-2000 grit sandpaper until its all off, and then polish them up with some 3M rubbing compound.

Edit: or buy a few bottles of rubbing alcohol. It will take it off eventually, but it will take a long time.

Re: Spray on tint removal

tried plast-x, no joy, tried just wet sanding, took forever. Finally used brake fluid and worked with it very fast and washed it off thoroughly. then wet sanded and then polished up with plast-x. did very well but had to hand paint the black trim lines. saved alot of money not having to buy new lenses. sorry no pics, but thanks a mil for the ideas!
