Heres your chance ! Reverse cowl ? FG Z28 ?

Ok i've been talking with someone with a company who makes very good aftermarket body kits, hoods etc for quite a few cars, im trying to get them to make the Reverse Cowl hood most of us have seen from japan, and a fiberglass stock Z28/IROC hood a reality, as theres a lot of interest on them as well. Please cast your vote, for which you would actually be interested in buying, I need something reasonable to show the demand, please dont post if your just not going to buy but think it looks cool etc. These people can actually make the "japanese" hood as many have referred to it a reality.

And onto some pics of it for those who are new or just havent seen it.

Some of course are going to want an idea on price, it will be in the $500-700 range.

i am sure the cost is still going to be around 500 for the hood and all shipping or what not , but i always been interested in that hood only prob i have is i have yet to start prep work on my car for paint and siad i would not get a cowl hood till i had my car in sanded or primer

One quick question, would they or could they be a bolt on without using hood pins? If so I think I would be interested because it looks like a good unit to convert to some fresh air. Also do or have you seen any of theire work in person and what do you actually think of the quality.

only prob i would see if there diped in to far it could get into the way of some engines air filters but thats an easy around i am sure

They are a sponsor on an RX7 board that I am now a member on, and there are quite a bit of people who have their products, there are pics of their products alone, and posts from people who have installed them, they do have a very good track record as I have found. As far as mounting etc I am not sure at the moment as the plan involves them actually bringing over one of the actual hoods from japan and creating a mould from it making it an exact copy.

I'd love a stock style hood, but with a 2" or 2.5" cowl... I have seen one that a guy cut and made from his stock hood, but I can't find anyone willing to cut into mine... a fiberglass stock hood with a cowl would be sweet!

yeah thats one thing that sucks about fiberglass, you never know how itll fit.
if you look on ebay however ther are some 85-92 fiberglass Z28 hoods (aftermarket obviously) that go for auction once in awhile. ive seen them before, but i havent seen any for quite some time.

inverted would be so badass on these cars...

I would def buy if they took the time to make sure it would clear carb. with a decent air filter. I don't want to cut another hole in my hood like I did the rx7

I hate that hood, it looks like jap crap

If you want a japanese hood, put it on a Japanese car. I hate it when people ruin a good american car by trying to make it look like a rice burner. Camaros are an American icon. Camaros were here long before Jap Scrap and will be around long after.
