My new find

Last Friday, I picke up a second 3rd gen. This one will not be a daily driver as the '92 RS I currently drive. It is an '89 RS with the body in decent shape, the interior is quite worn, but fixable. Rear brakes need rebuilt and it needs shocks and struts. Also needs work on both door hinges. I intend to restore it to stock before I decide if any mods/upgrades will be done.

That looks like a great find man. I live in Canada, so what you consider "decent shape" is amazing shape. Take care of that gem.

I know what you mean about decent shape out there. I used to live in Michigan years ago where salt is used on the roads in the winter. Makes it almost impossible to find an older vehicle that still has fenders on it.

Al,

Looks like a great platform to start from. I've got the same issue. My 91 RS gets driven lots of miles as its my only car, and I've been looking for a good car to restore/modify or one to be a daily driver and restore the one I have.

Thanks for the comments guys. I drove it to work the other day and found out that I also need to put a new clutch in. But what do you expect from a used car? I noticed also that the previous owner(s) have not done a single upgrade, I have a 17 year old bone stock Camaro except for the radio, which I intend to exchange for a 4th gen style.

off topic, but whats the cruise RPM of the 92 with the T-5/3.42 combo?

When I got my sport coupe, it was bone stock also. I'd definately rethink purchasing a car that wasn't quite stock, save the small bolt-ons of course.
